Hey, now. Don't leap to conclusions. They might not be fat... just full of hot air.

You are right for the most part. However, some people are overweight or obese because of the genetic makeup of their body. Some people are just born with it in their genetic makeup that their bodies will have a tougher time burning off fat and weight. Now, granted, a lot of people eat stuff that is not all that good for them, and they get overweight and obese that way. That is what makes your argument a valid one. But not everyone is like that. Most people are, but some are genetically built that way and therefore cannot help it. Just thought I'd clear that up for you.

I think it would be hypocritical and actually kind of funny. I would probably be snickering under my breath. However, the Churches that I have attended did not have these types of sermons preached. Plus the pastors were skinny and the one used to go outside after Church with my husband and have a smoke. I tell people to stop watching so much TV Christianity, go to your local Churches.

It is very serious thing to take care of your body in every way possible. But the bible says touch not my annointed and do my prophet. You nor I or anyone is in a position to judge. Preachers just tell you what the bible says. If you commiting sins against your own body, stop. Think of this. There are plenty of things that hurt your body. How many of them have we given up?

Most preachers? Have you met most? Then don't make these generalizations. I've never heard my or any other pastor condemn smoking. Drinking yes, because it can lead to drunkeness the Bible warns of. Never heard a preacher teach on making sure you are healthy.

ok, to respond to your question... at first, you're saying maximum of the human beings of Pastors/ Preachers which you spot on television are obese, that's not valid, that's an opinion, not actuality, in certainty they don't look to be. Take Bishop TD Jakes for example, he replaced into obese, yet he made an attempt to lose the burden. The Bible in no way reported it replaced right into a sin to be obese, however the sin is in what you probably did to be obese. Glutony is a sin, overindulgence in nutrition is a sin, not looking after your termple is a sin. Pastor's are actually not condeming while they're coaching God's be conscious, you will be the single to sense condemed because you're actually not doing ideal, that's what occurs as quickly as we are doing incorrect.... or as quickly as we sense we are doing incorrect. you're saying maximum preachers you spot are obese, nicely maximum of the human beings of folk interior the united states are obese, via what's in our ingredients recently, yet it is an entire nother difficulty, wish I replied your question.

It depends. Being overweight does mostly come from over eating, which is the sin of greed, but it can also come from just eating the wrong foods, or from heredity or physical conditions like thyroid misfunction. On the other hand, smoking and drinking are personal choices and they are done deliberately so to me it is different.

It is certainly something they should pay attention to. On the other hand, smoking isn't a requirement of your body, and neither is drinking (although moderate alcohol consumption is allowed in the Bible). Eating, however IS needed to sustain life. Obviously moderation is key in this area as in all others.

Actually, I think it is...but it's no different then doctors being overweight...or smoking and drinking for that matter. I see nurses and doctors smoking...I've seen many fat hospital workers.
I think what it means is that "people" are hypocritical...about many things. Preachers, deacons, doctors and nurses are all...just people.

To me, over-indulgence of any kind is still over-indulgence. Obesity is far more likely to kill you than cigarettes or drinking (and I'm a hardcore opponent of cigarettes).
It's just like all the Christians who get divorced and then rip on gays for "sinning". Hypocrites.

When anyone says, "Do as I say, not as I do," it is hypocritical.
Taking care of your body is the moral thing to do. It shows respect for your body. These preachers need to pray harder for help to do what is right, so they can be a wonderful example to their people.
