Most Cancers have tell tale signs that they are there before they really show up - like drenching night sweats, weight loss, lumps or bumps in the body, just to name a few. If you really suspect this, you should go to your Dr. - or another Dr. if that makes you more comfortable and ask for a PET scan. - This is a fairly new scan, but it can detect cancer wherever it is in the body - that way you would know for sure whether or not that was the case. You also may have other things wrong with you instead, but honestly, you really need to talk to your Dr. and not worry that he / she might think you are a hypochondriac - its your body and you deserve not to suffer - obviously there is something wrong and you need to get to the bottom of it, and the sooner, the better.

My sister always told me that the ladies in our family always die of cancer. Last year she started with a cough and had a chesty x-ray which was clear. Her voice started becoming husky sand she went to the doctor's for treatment. It turned out to be lung cancer! This is so unfair. She has never smoked even one cigarette in her life and gets this. Fortunately it is contained and she is now receiving treatment that will get rid of it, thank God. Another friend wasn't so fortunate. She went to Turkey and complained of stomach pains and went to see a doctor. He sent her to hospital and withing a few hours they rushed her in theatre and removed eight feet of bowel. She was riddled with cancer and returned to England. The Turks made such a mess of the operation that she couldn't';t be operated on here and died just before Christmas a few days after her 49th birthday. She smoked over 60 a day.l

If you are concerned at all please go to see your doctor for a check-up. If there's nothing wrong they won't bother. If there is they'll find it and you'll be treated.

Don't know where you are but in England at the moment there's a poster campaign that shows two stick figures. One is saying 'It'd kill me if I knew I had cancer.' The other says 'It'll save your life if you did know.'

By the way there's nothing tough in ignoring your body's warning signs if you have any. I'd call it pretty stupid!

Yes,I was certain something was happening.I had vague feelings of unwellness,It was summer and I was always cold,I felt somewhat weak. That could indicate most anything but it was stage 3 colorectal cancer which I have since been treated for.Everyone is different,so I'm sure that isn't your problem. But for your own peace of mind, get some testing done.Like they said, the PET scan is the premium test if it can be worked out for you.Good luck, don't literally worry yourself sick.

My dad didn't think anything was wrong with him when he went for a routine colonoscopy.

Three days later he was diagnosed with renal cancer and was given a year to live.

If you suspect something is wrong, go see a doctor. I would hate to think you're in the same position as my dad.

Take care.

No, but I was only 8. Before assuming the worst, you might want to check into chronic fatigue syndrome. That has a lot of really really crappy symptoms and doesnt show up in most (if any?) tests.

Yes, my mom.
She told me 6 months before she was diagnosed that she thought something was really wrong with her. She went to three different doctors before she was diagnosed. She's now recovering wonderfully.

If you feel that something is wrong, please tell your doctor. If he/she treats you like you're a hypochondriac, find another doctor.

You may want to consider an alternative medicine practitioner. (homeopath, naturopath or herbalist) They tend to trust people who are listening to their body.

Good luck to you.
