Just wondering why they wouldn't be Jewish also?

Actually, the early Christians were mostly Jewish. As Gentiles (non-Jews) came to believe in Jesus, many did convert to Judaism first, in fact Peter thought they should have to. But Paul said that salvation through Jesus was for all and the Gentiles should not have to convert.

Paul's understanding became the rule and they were not required to convert.

But Jesus said he came to fulfill the law. This means he completes it. Jews are still waiting for the Messiah...Christians know he has come. We do not follow the man Jesus, we follow Jesus who is God and became man.

As mentioned earlier, the first Christians (Christ followers) were all Jewish.

As Gentiles became followers of the Way (as the early believers called themselves), the question of whether or not these Gentiles need to convert to Judaism was raised.
Acts 15 describes the decision of the Church at Jerusalem that removed any requirement to following the Jewish law as a precursor to being saved because we are saved by grace, not obedience to the Law.

Even then, the Jewish Christians considered themselves a sect within Judaism (as many Messianiac congregations believe today -still Jewish, but followers of Jesus) until the other Jews began throwing them out of the synagogues.

Today, the vast majority of Christians are Gentiles by heritage. Spiritually though, all believers in Christ are descendents of Abraham per Paul in the book of Romans.

sure that's genuine yet a number of them weren't likely Jews yet naturalized or converted Jews and Roman motivated Jews. the unique team have been dispersed because of the fact they have been hunted, haunted and persecuted. Paul replaced into nonetheless convincingly appearing as Roman secret agent for the unique team to come again out interior the open. Persecution replaced into nonetheless occurring however the flow stored growing to be at an alarming fee and the smart Constantine schemed a pretend miracles like Paul making him decide for to create Christianity because of the fact the valid faith of the Empire. Injecting their own version after identifying on up some person-friendly teachings from the old testomony to make their new declare credible, brought about the unique Christ followers nonetheless strictly following Jewish Traditions to chop up from and this time the recent Roman Christians began pursuing and persecuting each and all of the Jews even if if Christ believers or not.. the unique Messianic Jews did not have self assurance Jesus because of the fact the anointed One because he broke between the main extreme sign between them and God and that replaced into the Sabbath Day of relax worsened by using the belief of injecting the Trinity theory. If ever there is Messianic Jew ideal now that have self assurance on Jesus because of the fact the Christ, there is threat that that's yet another ploy of the Romans to relatively divide the unique Jewish faith and their way of existence talked approximately as Judaism.

"Jewish" can mean one of two things

1) Of Hebrew decent
2) Belonging to the Jewish faith, or religion

Jesus was of Jewish decent, and while he belonged to the Jewish faith during his upbringing, he introduced the Christian faith as a replacement for Judaism for those who would be God's chosen people. Judaism was designed to reconcile people to God and point out that we are imperfect and in need of Christs ransom. Once the ransom was given, this was no longer required. If Israel as a whole hadn't rejected Jesus, Judaism would still have been replaced with Christianity. It just would've been mainly the nation of Israel involved in it.

Jesus brought the good news that The New Testament was for all the people of the world who would believe that He was the son of God and therefore could be redeemed to The Father.Hence they became Christians, followers of the ways of Christ and no longer gentiles.

Originally Jesus was followed by Jews and the pagans disputed him. then when he started to be worshipped as a god the jews stopped or converted to what became known as Chritianity because Jews only worship one G-d and that humans are not and can not be gods. No matter the curcumstance

Well if the jews had believed in Jesus and followed Him there would still be Christians anyway, because only Jews can be Jews!

when the Jews killed Jesus that was the start of Christianity. the Jews rejected Gods son as the messiah so God rejected them.

now i am getting thumbs down for stating the truth. that's OK, look how many times the Jews did the wrong thing. they even killed the son of God. not only that but they let a murderer go and killed Jesus as an oppose of God. the prophesies are very clear in the bible about when the son of man would appear and where as well as the family line. I'm just glad I'm not a Jew

Todays christians are not followers of the real jewish messiah. They would obey the Torah (first five books of the bible.) if they truly loved God (Yahweh).
