i bought a car in nov 05 since then i have had to return it several times for faulty brakes and the engine cutting out. hey repaired the brakes on the 5th time looking at it, they also fixed the engine problem but it has now returned. someone has told me that under the trades act i can return the car and they are under obligation to provide me with a new car. does anyone know any more about this

You are reffering to the lemon law. It may vary from state to state, but gernerally, if you return a car 3 times for the same problem in a year's time and it still is not fixed, then you can return the car as a lemon.

You are already over the time limit, on this. So I can't say for sure. I do know when Ihad a similar problem, you can call the 1-800 customer service number in the owner's manual and get them involved in the process. Some times the dealers will rip off the manufacturer by charging them for warranty work and not doing the job. Call the number and see what happens, the dealer will not like getting reported about the problem, and they will want to get it straightened out.

It depends on your state laws the federal lemon law is not always followed by states Look in your owners manual, it gives contacts for the lemon laws and can help you figure this out. The 5 strikes does sound like you could be covered.

you are referring to lemon law and no you are well passed the time for Lemon Law. If you return the car and have a loan it is a reposession. No Matter what anyone says! You have to trade in the car or sell it
