I am not much of a candy eater but, when I do it hurts like hell. I do brush my teeth and I know I got soft teeth but, is there another reason?

Everyone here has said the main reason that teeth hurt when eating sweets is due to "cavities".....really it may be due to "decay" in the teeth. But it could also be due to "recession." For example, if you drink something cold and it sets certain teeth off with a stinging sensation, but this sensation goes away as soon as you warm the tooth with your cheeks or tongue. Then it's possible it could be recession. Usually with decay the pain will linger awhile. It's a possibility, but if you haven't been to the dentist in awhile, then it's time to go and have a cleaning and exam to make certain it's "not" decay. It's much better to catch decay early when it's small rather than wait until you need a root canal or worse, an extraction. Hope I've been of some help and that you will see your dentist soon! You need to go to the dentist, you may have a cavity. Cavities just don't come from eating candy it can actually be anything you have eaten!

I think its because maybe your body/teeth cant stand hard candy. unless its gummy stuff.
