I am a graphic designer that wants to start my own business and was wondering how much your printer/designer charged you.

Also, how much/little would you be willing to spend?

I spent approximately $835 on 150 invitations. That price includes the invitations, reception cards, response cards, return address on the envelope, lined inner envelope, and the choice of ink color on all of the above. That price does not include the $470 that I spent on Save-the-Date magnets.

That's a moderate price compared to what I've seen and heard. I would have easily spent more than $1000 if I wanted to invite more people and more than $2000 if I had wanted to go with engraved invitations or embossed invitations.

I did my own. I do have a friend who makes invitations. She charges according to paper, quanity , and style. For the very basic she charges $2 per invite. That's with the envelope. If they want vellum she'll boost it up about fifty cents. The more elabrorate they get the more she charges. So I'd say the very basic starting at $2 up to very elaborate $7 per invite.

I printed my own invitations. I bought the invitations from Michael's for $25 each. Each pack had 50 invitations, envelopes and response cards w/ envelopes. I refused to spend $300 plus on invitations.

I paid $1/per to have someone hand make my wedding invitations. Of course, she's a friend and I got the super secret discount.

With so many home desktop applications, clip art and paper kits out there you might not be able to charge very much as people are fairly able to do their own.

For my wedding, my husband and I made our own invitations, with paper, printing, and mailing material, we probably spent about $80.

For my 15anera, we ordered my invitations and they came out to $325 for 300 invitations and 500 passes.

I also did my own. Invitations were about $50. We spent maybe $30 on programs. We couldn't afford spending hundreds of dollars on invitations, etc.

I am a graphic designer and I made my own. So I only had to pay for the paper, ink, and envelopes. (I used black outer square envelopes, ecru inner envelopes, orange vellum, and ecru card stock.) I think I spent $30. lol
