The baby cannot get a chicken pox vaccine until 12 months of age. My 4 year old got chicken pox and I had a 6 month old baby. The vaccine was new at that time so she hadn't had the vaccine when she was 1 and I asked the doctor and he said my son was too young to get the vaccine and it was too late anyway because he'd already been exposed. He ended up with chicken pox too. Just keep a close watch on the baby. While some people do have problems with chicken pox, most don't and she will either get it or not, so worrying won't really help anything. Good luck. When my kids had it, it seemed worse for the 4 year old than it was for the baby.

I never seen a baby with chicken pox, but I would worry about your wife more, chicken pox tend to be more serious on an adult then child. You should have your infant test for the virus~I think it's called titer and go from there.

Wow, what terrible timing. regrettably, fowl pox takes some weeks to resolve thoroughly... in case you've been making plans to holiday with him, i ought to assert no. in case you've been leaving him with someone you've self assurance it really is keen to safeguard him, like a relative, he will be high quality. and there is a vaccine for it; it really is said as "Varicella", yet they don't in a lot of circumstances get it until eventually they're about a year previous. Now he wont want it! as long as he's less than the care of the pediatrician, he will be high quality. sturdy success.
