If you talking bout African American 360 waves here's what i recommend....
For a fresh cut you might want to use "let's jam". It smells really good and makes your hair shiny. It also has a pretty good hold. If its been a while since you got a cut it would be best to get some pomade to hold your hair down. There are many types of pomades but these are what I recommend:

shorter hair: "Sportin Waves" (in a black can usually be found just about anywhere but family dollar is guaranteed to have it)

medium length hair:"Sportin Waves"(in a gold can also found just about anywhere)

longer hair: "Dax"(in a red can found in a lot of places but walmart is guaranteed to carry it)

You might want to put a warm damp towel over your hair after putting in the pomades. It will loosen it up some so it will be easier to work with. There is also something called the H2o method which involves constantly wetting your hair throughout the day and brushing it until its near dry. You can find out more about this by going to 360waves.net.

There is a lot of hard work put into getting fresh 360 waves. I don't have the space to list all of the products and techniques that goes into getting waves. You can work on developing your waves at just about any wave length. Here are some obvious suggestion.

1.)brush A LOT. Always keep you're brush on you.

2.)make sure you get your hair cut and washed regularly. It is best to wash your hair at least 2 times a week. Also use a conditioner.

3.) make sure the bristles on your brush are hard enough. For short hair use a softy and for longer hair use a medium or hard brush.)

4.) Make sure you're brushing right. Start from the center of the scalp and brush outwards towards the hair line. Brush the sides in a slight slant.

5.) Protect your pattern by wearing a wave cap or durag at night.

Brushing is what develops your waves. The only thing that the wave cap and pomade does is enhance the look of the waves by weighing your hair down.
It will probably take a few weeks for you to see any results. If you want fresh waves all throughout your hair it will take a few months. It takes a lot of patience at first but it will get easier for you once you start seeing results.
If you don't have a lot patience you can buy an s-curl kit for waves. It gives you instant waves and it's pretty cheap but it is not permanent and your hair will not get as wavy as it would with the old fashioned way. These are only the basic suggestion. If you want detailed suggestion and product reviews, just go to http://360waves.net/.

i can help u with this as i got 360s. Before u even start tryn 2 get 360s u have to ask urself do u really want them, as they will require a lot of brushing(im talking at least an hour daily)But if u follow what i do/did to get 360s then u should be spinnin in no time. First of all stay away from pomade untill ur waves have time 2 devolpe(all pomade is,is a thick grease/wax that holds ur hair/waves in place u dont need it will just make the process of gettn 360s longer. What u do need is a good moisturizer (i use carrot cream), water/tha h2o method(all this is, is a process where u wet ur hair and then brush dry) and a brush(the curlier/nappier ur hair is the harder the brush u will need, and a couple of wavecaps/doo-rags. After ur morning shower dry ur hair, NOT ALL THE WAY, as some moisture is wanted for this process. Brush each side/section of ur hair for 5 minutes/untill dry(top straight forward back straight back and the sides at a 45 degree angle. After brushing wet entire head again and then apply a genorus ammount of carrot cream 2 ur head.(your hair may look white but it will be fine after u brush) and then brush 4 another 10 minutes each section and then put on a wavecap. Be sure to brush throughout the day when not doing anything. At night i use the same method as the morning(wet head, apply carrot cream and brush each section for 10 minutes.) put on ur wave cap b4 bed and ur good. Follow this process daily and u should b spinnin in no time. Remeber the key 2 360s is 2 brush!
