Pastor Billy says: not to fault your mother but........ the publisher is a known publisher of Protestant literature which contradicts Catholic teaching. I would buy another study bible if you can that you have no doubts about and/or make sure the person using this translation is firmly rooted in how a Catholic is to interpret chapter and verse.
I would check out the local parish for advise sometimes they have Catholic literature and bibles available or look for a Catholic bookstore or try EWTN catalog online.
A good study bible to try is the Navarre bible which is Catholic. It has both latin and english text as well as commentary in 3 columns.

super question and wonderful scripture to help it. of direction they're going to in no way end publishing the literature, not till Armageddon. in the event that they stopped examining their books and only used the Bible, tens of millions might probable pass away and the Governing physique could not have that, could they? for people who reported that JW's do learn the Bible and purely use their books to help it, what utter nonsense. while an involved guy or woman starts off a so talked approximately as bible learn he reads the assorted chapters of the main contemporary 'learn help', presently a e book talked approximately as 'What does the Bible relatively practice', or 'practice e book' for short. The Bible is barely used to help the training of the society, and, subsequently they 'cherry %. remoted scriptures that seem to 'tutor' they're ideal. So, working example, in the event that they're finding at Jesus, they decide for scriptures that seem to disclaim his deity yet intently ward off pertaining to those that tutor it. on the top of each and every learn section there are questions, the solutions to that are all interior the passages only examine. the pupil is predicted to apply the given solutions, if he does so he's congratulated and made to sense particularly smart because of the fact he has got here upon 'a bible actuality' all on his own. If he solutions in yet otherwise then he has not particularly 'seen the certainty' and is gently brainwashed some extra till he does. how in the international can that be talked approximately as a learn of the Bible? some JW's might ingredient out that for the period of addition they learn the Bible, one e book at a time, yet even that's finished decrease than preparation using yet yet another e book to establish that they don't detect something that shows the lies.

Hi Fair,
The NIV Teen Study Bible is a very accurate Bible. It awesome that you love the Word of God. The facts you state are the key. You have a heart for God, Fair.
The Bible is the Bible. It doesn't matter what Christian denomination you attend on Sundays, Catholic, Presbyterian, non-denominational.
I can tell you that the "old-style catholic bible" has a few extra books in it that are clearly not old enough to be part of the bible. In order to be the Word of God, the books in new testament have to be written by one of the apostles that saw and walked with Jesus.
Beside the extra books, which can be overlooked, there is no difference in an old-time "catholic bible" and a bible today. The words are not changed, maybe 'thee' is now 'you' (that is true in any older and newer bible compared), but you can see that this difference wouldn't change the meaning.
Keep reading your bible. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ will bless you as you seek Him and not the 'approval of man'
Love,
A Big Sister in Christ

Check the Old Testament and see if it has the Book of Wisdom. You will only find Wisdom in a Catholic Bible.
With any book on religion, check the very front of the book and look for the Nihil Obstat and the Impirmatur.
Nihil Obstat ensures the book does not contain anything that is contrary to Catholic doctrine
The Impirmatur is issued by the bishop saying it is permissible to print.

Look the Bible is the Bible, they all contain the truth of God,this worry over wether a Bible is Catholic or Protestant is another of the things that Atheists love to hear, and gives them an excuse to ridicule the Word of God,Catholics read your Catholic Bible and you Protestants read yours, the same Word(Jesus) is there within.

No, it's not. A reputable Catholic equivalent would be the International Student Bible for Catholics. It's the New American Bible translation.

REALLY Primoa - there is something VERY wrong with you.
Luther, your hero, removed those 7 books in the 1500's - they were there for hundreds of years. And to top it off, it's hilarious that you are reading the other 66 books of the CATHOLIC Bible!
Duh...
Nikki, if that was true, then you'd have to throw out all Paul's books, since he neither saw nor walked with Jesus..

I'm a chataholic (addicted to chatting) but I didn't realize there was a Bible for it.

No....
It is an excellent bible.....
Closest one to the original that I know of
But in order for it to be a 'catholic' bible, I think it needs to have the heretical apocrapha inserted into it....the books that were deemed 'not God-breathed'
