Mine hurt but I stuck it out. I have a VERY low tolerance for pain but I was ok so unless you are like me, you will be fine. I just held my hubby's hand really tight the whole time! Really, after like 15 min., it doesn't really hurt anymore, it's more like annoying. The outline hurts the most but once they are coloring in/shading, it's not as bad.

I don't know if you've ever had a tattoo or not before, either way, my first tattoo was on my back :) and was just done recently. It really didn't hurt, I was all tense before it began but then I just loosened up and I actually was laughing that everyone makes the pain sound so much rougher than it is. About an hour into the tattoo it was hurting more but that's just how a tattoo works.

In terms of the back, it is actually a good place to get a tattoo. I have heard people say lower back hurts a bit more than elsewhere on the body.

Go for it though, you'll be surprised how quick your squeemish-ness turns to courage. I'm planning to get more done on my back so it couldn't have been that bad of an experience, lol.

Well if your really squeamish then the back would not be an ideal place for your tattoo unless you can force yourself to be still! Your outline can jump and mess the look of your tattoo. If this is your first one I suggest the ankle or upper arm so that you get an idea of what your pain tolerance is. Have fun! Try not to think about it to much and it won't hurt as bad!

I have a tattoo on my upper back in between my shoulder blades, that I was sure was going to hurt like crazy. Suprisingly, however, it didn't hurt much at all, it was more like a cat scratch or being snapped with a rubber band repeatedly. It is far more annoying than it is painful, and it will be much less painful if you just relax.

The inside of the wrist is going to be more tender and may hurt or be more annoying. Scale of 1-10?? hard to say since everyone is different, what doesnt hurt me you may think to be unbearable. Since tattoos are permanent get what you want where YOU want dont let the possible pain factor chase you away from something you want.

All tattoos hurt, but some places are worse than others. I had one on my lower back a few years ago and I didnt find it unbearable. I find that if you are tense then they seem to hurt more and once you relax its not as bad

it depends where. your shoulder is fine. bottom of the back hurts a bit but it's nothing compared to some areas. heres a tip: get a staple and push one of the sharp ends on your skin (don't break the skin) and drag it along. that will give you a pretty good idea of what a tattoo feels like

well tattoos hurt anywhere that you get them. but im weak when it comes to pain but i got one on my lower back. the worst part about the tattoo is the outline. but the coloring doesnt really hurt. plus after a while you just kinda get used to the pain and it kinda goes numb.

i have one on my lower back, it wasn`t unbearable but did hurt a little...when u get a piercing, the pain is over very quicly, but with a tat, it`s uncomfortable for the duration of the time they`re working on it...let`s put it this way, i won`t be getting any large tattoos!!! i am designing 2 more small ones that i plan to have done this year, because i know that i can withstand the pain of a smaller tat...

Depends on your tolerence for pain; I would think. I got one on my upper back/neck area and there were a couple of times I cringed. So..., yeah they hurt a little.
Just try to stay as still as possible if you are deciding to get one, you dont want something cool coming out all messed up.
