I am a Christian; I will answer as best I can.

Q. What was the original language of the Bible?(Hebrew? Aramaic? Koine Greek?)
A. The OT was Hebrew. Some of Paul's letters were in Aramaic, and some in Greek. The writers of the day wrote in the local, common languages.

Q. Does the Bible exist in the original form anywhere on earth?(No)
A. The Bible is compiled of many different books, some of which were recovered from the Dead Sea scrolls. What are you talking about? And Moses' original manuscripts of the first five books of the Bible would not have lasted thousands of years; they were simple parchment. The Jewish scribes carefully recorded them and so it has been kept.

Q. Why does the Catholic Bible has seven (7) more books than the Protestant Bible?
A. Are you referring to the Apocrypha? The Apocrypha were not inspired of God; they say so themselves. The Protestant Bible does not include them because of that.

Q. Why do these two Bibles have different versions of the same books?
A. Which books?

Q. Why are there so many mistakes and errors are from the very first verse right up to the very last verse?
A. Name some; I will answer.

Q. Why do 'Born Again Christians' teach concepts that are not from the Bible?
A. They are not true Christians and do not believe the fundamental concepts of the Bible. This includes six-day creation.

Q. There is no word "Trinity" in the Bible in any version of any language.
A. The word Trinity is the English translation. The original word was Greek, and meant three people sharing one contract of possessive rights. Something like that.

Q. The oldest forms of Christianity do not support the 'born again' beliefs.
A. In Acts, Paul describes several different ways of being 'born again'. With the Jews he merely baptized them. The Samaritans, baptizing and receiving Christ as their Saviour. With the Gentiles, receiving Christ as their Saviour and then being baptized. I don't know where you got the "oldest forms of Christianity", though.

Q. Jesus of the English Bible complains about the 'crucifixion'("Eli! Eli! Lama sabachthani?- My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?")[Mk 15:34]
A. Jesus was not complaining. He had been seperated from the Father; the Trinity was split; He was crying out in agony. Why had God forsaken Him? It was somewhat of a rhetorical question, but He was expression Himself.

Q. How can Jesus be the "Only Begotten Son" of John 3:16? When in Psalms 2:7 David is God's "Begotten Son?
A. That part of Psalm 2 was prophetic. David was referring to Jesus Christ, not to himself.

What was the original language of the Bible?(Hebrew? Aramaic? Koine Greek?) Hebrew is the original language of the first books of the old testament, the latter books were written in Koine Greek, nothing was ever written that is in the OT Bible in Aramaic, the language in which the Book of Judas was written in and some of the Pauline letters.
Does the Bible exist in the original form anywhere on earth? No is doesn't, when it was written it was written on skins and very little of the original could survive this long, the oldest text found to date, the Essenes Torah, better known as the dead see scrolls, has been compared to the current translation which has been done over the last 2000+ years and it matches almost to the word.
Why does the Catholic Bible has seven (7) more books than the Protestant Bible? The deutrocanonical version of the Bible includes these bookes because they were written in Greek and when Martin Luther redid the Bible, to fit his needs and that of his faith, he removed these because according to him, they were not from the original hebrew, well that is an understatement, because neither was any of the New Testament and he had no problem with that.
Why do these two Bibles have different versions of the same books? They aren't different versions, again the deuterocanonical version has combined books and seperated books because of the theological work done in them, the sources and the stories were to different to be included in the same book. It would be like keeping the Lord of the Rings and Narnia in one book.
Why are there so many mistakes and errors are from the very first verse right up to the very last verse? There are no mistakes or errors when it comes to salvific history, they are examples of different authors, making their contribution to a story that already was, the person who redacted the last version of the Bible then decided to include both stories without changing anything because they were both inspired by God himself.
Why do 'Born Again Christians' teach concepts that are not from the Bible? That is a question only they can answer, they do just like most, interpret the Bible to best fit their needs, spiritual and sadly also mundane.
There is no word "Trinity" in the Bible in any version of any language The oldest forms of Christianity do not support the 'born again' beliefs
Jesus of the English Bible complains about the 'crucifixion'("Eli! Eli! Lama sabachthani?- My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me?")[Mk 15:34]
How can Jesus be the "Only Begotten Son" of John 3:16? Jesus was born of God himself, to conclude the question that you postulate afterwards, David was not. It is as if you would be against an adopted son calling his adoptive parents mother and father. It has nothing to do with birth rights it has to do with whom raised you. For this reason Jesus was questiones because he was raised by Joseph and Mary, "isn't this the carpenter, son of Joseph, from Galilee"... Even He had to face this type of questioning.
When in Psalms 2:7 David is God's "Begotten Son

I know that more than likely you thought you had it all, but you don't, knowlegde and wisdom comes from being able to accept people for who they are, and respect them for what they believe in. Dont test someone if you aren't willing to really research it yourself.

God bless and thanks for the opportunity to answer such great questions.

1. The original language of the OT was Hebrew, except for the last six chapters of Daniel which were written in Aramaic. The original language of the NT was Greek.
2. Hand written copies of the original scrolls have passed down through the ages, until Wycliff and Tyndale translated them into English.
3. The books that were removed during the reformation were not considered to be inspired by God; because for 400 years prior to Jesus, God did not speak with His people.
4. I am not an authority on the differences of the Catholic Bible.
5. What you may consider mistakes and errors are due to mans lack of understanding of the text.
6. Do you mean why do we teach John 3:1-21? Because it is the words of Jesus.
7. The word trinity was coined to refer to the Father, Son and Holy Spirit which are definitely in the Bible.
8. I consider the oldest forms of Christianity to begin with Pentecost. Peter, John and Paul all understood the term born again.
9. Jesus did say My God! My God! Why have You forsaken me. The night before, Jesus had asked His God, His Father, to take this cup from Him. Now He is living the results of His Father saying NO. It was for this purpose that Jesus came into the world.
10. David was a man after God's own heart. Jesus on the other hand existed with His Father in heaven before the foundation of the worlds. Read John 17 and John 1:19-34. So He was clearly the only begotten Son of God.
Psalm 22 is about the coming Messiah, and the exact words used in (9) above were used in this Psalm.

1. the Bible says that in the beginning there was an original language until God scattered man because of mans disobedience. 2. The books of the Bible were written in many languages, Greek , Hebrew , etc. So the Bible was never written in one language. 3. The Protestant Bible has 7 less books because those books were not given by God priests wrote whatever they wanted to write! 4. I challenge you to name at least one mistake in the Bible. The Bible does not have one mistake whats soever. People that love to say this are the same ones that have never read it! 5. What do you mean Born Again Christians teach concepts not found in the Bible. If they are truly Born Again Christians then they would only teach from the Bible! 6. Before Jesus was crucified He was sinless and he had a true personal relationship with God. We can never have that kind of relationship because we are sinners. When Jesus was crucified he took all our sins with Him. When that happened Jesus lost that relationship with God because Jesus had our sins. Jesus never lost His power because at any time He could have come off of the cross, but that was not what He came to do! I hope that i answered some of your questions! If you still have some questions e-mail me, i will be very happy to answer them!

Why are there so many mistakes and errors are from the very first verse right up to the very last verse? Name them

1) Since I'm not a scholar of the ancient texts, I don't know.
2) THere are several very early manuscripts of various parts of the Bible in existence that date back to very early times. Interestingly enough, even though these manuscripts were written at different times, by different people, they are virtually identical.
3) The Catholic Bible includes the Apocypha, which the Protestant church does not recognize as part of the inspired Word of God. It is recognized as a valuable part of the historical record of that time period.
4) Since I am unfamiliar with the Catholic Bible (other than to know that it includes the Apocrypha) I can't comment.
5) Be specific.
6) Ditto
7) You are right, however, the picture of the triune God is clearly visible from Genesis through Revelation. The word "trinity" in simply our way of capturing that reality in verbal form.
8) Examples?
9) You misunderstand the reason behind the utterance. Jesus died on the cross as the sacrificial atonement for the sins of all mankind. He Who knew no sin became sin for you and me. At that moment He took on the sins of all that had ever lived, were alive or would ever live. God the Father is holy and not able to even look on sin, so He was forced to turn away from His beloved son. All this for our sake. The cry was not a complaint, but a cry of utter despair as He took on the sin of the world.
10) Psalm 2:7 is a prophetic statement that refers to the Messiah, Jesus the Christ.

I'm not a biblical scholar but I hope this helps.

I, as a Christian, am most happy to answer your questions within the confines of my own knowledge and education, and I'm 40, so that's quite some time to have been studying these things. I also have attended a Christian college where I studied these things in depth, and I am one who studies the Bible and things biblical. This is so you'll know I'm not just some guy spouting dogmatic regurgitations. As to my own beliefs (what some would call denomination, though I do not) I am an Evangelical.
1) The Bible was originally penned in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek.
2) The Bible was compiled from any different manuscripts. The individual books are whole and complete unto themselves, so until the Bible was complied, there was no "form" to it. And while some of the original texts are no longer with us, the copies that exist are by far more reliable than copies of things we would find today if such a thing were attempted. We assume that in this time of technology things are more reliable, but they're not.
3) The Catholics included the Apocrypha in their Bible, so called because they cannot be reliably called canonical (i.e. they are not accepted as God-inspired Scripture). The fact that these books are not canonical does not imply that truth and greater understanding of God cannot be gained through their study.
4) The Bible has so many different translations (NIV, KJV, NKJV, NASB, RSV, etc.) is because the Bible has to be understood by humans, and humans speak many different languages and many dialects of those languages. I fully expect, some day, to see a Bible translated into ebonics. That, and also because you really can't find 3 people who agree wholeheartedly on ANYTHING. That's also why there are so many dissenting opinions and theories amongst scientists.
5) To this, I can only ask you to which mistakes you refer? If you mean typographical and grammatical errors, then I can honestly say human error, as with anything. How many times have you been reading a novel and found a misspelling or grammatical error of some sort? It happens.
6) Here, also, I have to ask you what concepts you refer to. Are you a Bible scholar? If not, how do you know these concepts are not Biblical? And Christianity is all about concepts. Many truths are revealed in the Bible that are not stated outright, simply because God intended the Bible to be studied, not just read.
7) A perfect example of my answer from number 6 above. No, the word trinity never occurs in Scripture, but the concept of God as a Trinity is certainly presented, over, and over, and over again. That's why we must "study to show [ourselves] approved..."
8) The oldest forms of Christianity are, in fact, from the Old Testament, and since the OT saints were not sure of what God was going to do, then of course they didn't understand the concept of being Born Again. They did believe that God would deliver His Messiah, and their belief was accounted to them as righteousness. However, since Christianity is based on Christ, and He did, in fact, teach us that we must be born again, then I'm afraid your assertion that the "oldest" forms of Christianity do not support it are simply wrong. He taught this concept to the Apostles and His disciples, and they may not have understood it in whole, but it was in His teachings, and they came to understand it, and they passed it along.
9) Jesus was not complaining on the cross when He cried out, "My God! My God! Why hast Thou forsaken Me?!" For the first time in His existance He was not a part of God. Yes, in other words, God ceased to exist for a time, at least in the way that He had up until that moment. All of creation was affected by it (skies were darkened, the earth rumbled, etc.). It is also the first and only time that Jesus did not refer to God as Father.
10) Jesus is the only Begotten Son of God because He is the only being that God is directy responsible for causing to be physically born. He is the second member of the Triity and always submits Himself to God The Father, and so is also the Son of God, and as God Himself, also has the same abilities and authority of Him. The passage in the Psalms is a prophetic reference to Jesus. It doesn't say it was written by David (not all the Psalms were, you know), and at no point is the then king of Israel being referred to. It is referring to the coming King of Israel (Israel being God's people, not the geographical locale), who is Jesus Christ.

It was, in fact, a great pleasure to answer your questions, and if you have any others, please let me know. You can contact me at pvt_hutt@yahoo.com.

The old testament was written in Hebrew, the new Testament in Greek and Aramaic.
The original does exist.....also known as the dead sea scrolls.
Don't know anything about the Catholic Bible.
Trinity may not be mentioned in the Bible as a word but the Trinity is evident in it....for example when Jesus was baptized a voice came out of heaven saying this is my beloved son, and the Holy Spirit descended like a dove.
Jesus said that on the cross as He bore the sin of all humanity, past, present and future....God couldn't look at sin.
The verse in Psalms is talking about Jesus too.
The Bible doesn't contradict it's self or have errors, but you need to spend time studying it to know that.

2007-04-12 07:18:17 · answer #9 · answered by Jan P 6 · 2 1

The Father was not made, nor created, nor generated by anyone. The Son is not made, nor created, but begotten by the Father alone. The Holy Spirit is not made, nor created, nor generated, but proceeds from the Father and the Son. There is, then, one Father, not three Fathers; one Son, not three sons; one Holy Spirit, not three holy spirits. In this Trinity, there is nothing before or after, nothing greater or less. The entire three Persons are coeternal and coequal with one another. So that in all things, as is has been said above, the Unity is to be worshiped in Trinity and the Trinity in Unity.

Christ did not say, "Sit down and write Bibles and scatter them over the earth, and let every man read his Bible and judge for himself." If Christ had said that, there would never have been a Christianity on the earth at all, but a Babylon and confusion instead, and never one Church, the union of one body. Hence, Christ never said to His Apostles, "Go and write Bibles and distribute them, and let everyone judge for himself." That injunction was reserved for the Sixteenth Century, and we have seen the result of it. Ever since the Sixteenth Century there have been springing up religion upon religion, and churches upon churches, all fighting and quarreling with one another, and all because of the private interpretation of the Bible.

Christ sent His Apostles with authority to teach all nations, and never gave them any command of writing the Bible. And the Apostles went forth and preached everywhere, and planted the Church of God throughout the earth, but never thought of writing.

Because Their Bible is 100% correct, no matter how nonsensicalit is that there are so many different versions of it. If there ever was a real Bible that was the REAL word of God then it has been hacked to pieces by man, the Catholic Church and that Lycene council that there is nothing left except what they all feel we should know.. Also Jesus was perfect, yet common sense & unprinted Gospels of the bible tell you that Jesus was normal like guys of his era, got married had a kid or 2 and was just unlucky enough to have it all taken away so that God could have a final sacrifice. Myself, if I were the almighty, I would prefer that folks keep sacrificing goats, sheep, etc and woulda held onto my kids as long as possible to ensure they lived a long healthy life...Good thing I am not God HUH??
