can any one out there help me?

Iis st kilda an area in melbourne or sydney? And can anyone tell me the origins of the name, The reason i ask is we here in Scotland have an island of the same name.

St. Kilda is in Melbourne, Aus. as well as in Scotland
It is Scottish Gaelic

All I know is that it is an area in Melbourne, Don't know origin or meaning. tried to find it but the Internet is useless on this one
