Not in the least, but I would try to explain that we don't truly know how long Christ Jesus' Hair, and Beard were.

BTW: When I was in High School, I had my Hair down to my Shoulders, but I couldn't grow a Beard. Now, in my 50's I don't have much Hair left, but I've grown a real nice Beard. The LORD givith, and The LORD takith away.

No, I would not be bothered. In fact, I'd probably think he looked great. I grew up in the hippie era, where long hair and beards were common on young men. They were not all attempting to look like Jesus, of course, but the more attractive ones were often compared with him. Maybe that's why my two most significant love affairs were with Jewish men with long hair and beards!

Though not a Christian, the Bible specifically says Jesus did not physically stand out in any extreme way. Knowing this, and the only phenotypes prominent in the area of the time, the modern depictions of Jesus can not possibly be true.

Jesus would have been around a 5' tall, black haired, probably shorter, dark skinned, dirty man. A lot like someone you would probably find yourself looking at strangely if on a plane together.

If only he could reflect Jesus' character from the inside! It was part of Jesus Nazarene custom to not cut the hair. It is to my speculation that Jesus kept up with daily, good personal hygiene. Jesus kept busy teaching,healing,constructing,guiding,praying,planing,loving...
He didn't put much emphasis on monthly trims.
If someone can do all that then they can grow their hair out all they want! It would however bother me if laziness, a lack hygiene or unproductive life resulted from that image.

No, it would not bother me, I am an old hippie. My boyfriend has long hair and would prefer not to shave, but he is a teacher, so he has to go by school rules like everyone else. He does not look anything like Jesus though or at least how I would picture Jesus to look.

Actually, my son does look like Jesus. He's been told that numerous times. He's been letting his beard grow in too. It looks cool. And...he's only 15.
I must say, he didn't do it to look like Jesus though. He's in a band--I guess it's cool.
Go to my 360 and then the my my space if you wanna check him out.

How would he know how Jesus looks? It's silly but who cares. It would bother me if I had a son and he was old enough to grow a beard.

My son has such beautiful hair. I wish he would grow it longer. But he would not look good in a beard. Hmm... maybe a closely trimmed beard would be OK... But if he followed certain images and dyed his hair blond and started wearing blue contact lenses that would just look too weird and I would be bothered.

So far my son is clean cut ... but hes almost a teen and Im expecting him to want to look like the other teens soon. I dont mind the Jesus look.....as long as hes not pierced and tatood , I think I will be able to go through his experimental looks without turning completely grey haired.

Christ is not long-haired. It is prohibited for real Christian males to have long hair. The Christ being portrayed by some is just a product of their imagination.

1Co 11:14 Does it not seem natural to you that if a man has long hair, it is a cause of shame to him?

That teaching of Paul is from Christ

1Co 14:37 If any man seems to himself to be a prophet or to have the Spirit, let him take note of the things which I am writing to you, as being the word of the Lord.
