yes jesus did warn us about the false prophets and their end

"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test
the spirits to see whether they are from God, because
many false prophets have gone out into the world" (1 John 4:1).

Though God has spoken very clearly, these false teachers turn people
away from God's word. Some try to stop the people from learning God's
word for themselves. Others pretend to teach it, but they "distort" or
twist its meaning (2 Peter 3:16). They
do this so that they can follow "what their itching ears want to hear"
(2 Timothy 4:3-4). (This reminds us of the importance of testing every
teaching by what the Bible actually says.)

Why would anyone teach things that are against God's word? Some may do
it selfishly - for money and power. Others may be holding onto the
respected "tradition" of their people. Whatever the reason may be, most do
not fully realize the harm they are doing. As Proverbs 21:2 says, "All
a man's ways seem right to him."

Satan can so blind us that we think we are right, when we are quite
wrong. Jesus warned His apostles of just how far Satan would go.

"A time is coming when anyone who kills you will think
he is offering a service to God" (John 16:2).

This shows how completely Satan deceives, and how fierce the fight is.

Are you asking whether Jesus warned people not to believe in false prophets, or that he was himself wary of them? I don't recall any specific Bible passages (and my Bible is currently packed away for moving with all my other reference materials) which quote Jesus as saying to beware of false prophets, but I would not be surprised if someone finds one or more. I am less certain that they could demonstrate that he was himself wary. He seemed to have plenty enough self-confidence to hang out with all sorts of people without worrying that he would be corrupted.

Seems like the best plan, to me.

Jesus and his apostles told us to beware of oppressive wolves who would enter into the congregation looking for followers. Mathew 7:15; Acts 20:29; I John 4:1

Jesus told US to beware of false prophets because many will (and have) come and declare in His name to mislead us.

It's not Atheists who will mislead us.
It's not Spirituality who will mislead us.
It's not Paganism who will mislead us.
It's not Christianity who will mislead us.

It will be the Roman Catholic Church with a Pope who befriends us, fixes world problems, is wealthy and rich. This will be the Anit-christ-emperor of Rome.

Beware of Rome!
Never abide nor affiliate with any religion from Rome. Never abide nor affiliate with any religion who WILL BE affiliated with Rome. When Rome unites the world, that is when Rome will be corrupt.

Revelation 17 says so! Give me thumbs down all you want, that still does NOT change the fact that this IS BIBLICAL! Like it or not it's the truth.

They are in the pulpits.

You didn't think they would be on street corners did you?

2 Pet 2:1 But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves.
2 Pet 2:3 and in their greed they will exploit you with false words; their judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction is not asleep.

You bet ya.

Mat 7:15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.
Mat 7:16 Ye shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, or figs of thistles?
Mat 7:17 Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit.
Mat 7:18 A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit.
Mat 7:19 Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.
Mat 7:20 Wherefore by their fruits ye shall know them.
