I've just answered a question where I was asked to prove evolution, but I was not allowed to use proof. (This as a silly analogy for Christians who are being asked for proof of God outside of the Bible)

If the questions become more ignorant every day, is Yahoo!ANSWERS failing it's purpose?

I can't quite figure out your point, but the Bible is no proof of anything, so it's hardly the same as not being allowed to "use math" (odd phrasing, that) to prove that 2+2 = 4. Take two bibles, get two more bibles, and then count how many you have. Would that work?

Yes. Give me 2 apples to go with the 2 I already have, then count how many apples I have.

Send me an email with 2 attachments, then send me another email with 2 attachments and I will have 4 attachments.

Sometimes "proof" of something is not needed, only faith.
The first time a new invention is tested, the inventor does not know if it is going to work or not, because he just created it, so he must have faith and believe that his invention will work.

I don't know Markky...at least we are keeping some of these folks off the streets. For the sake of this question (I am so tired of the "prove it" scenario's too)....

I know that 2 +2 = 4. I do not know how I know it, its just there in my head and I believe its true. I have faith that it is true. When I have used it in the past its always been marked correct by my teachers. I do not know how my need to add it evolved but I am sure someone does or at least has some ideas about it.

You're right. God only exists within your bible. I'm glad you recognize this. You're comparing reality to a fairy tale book, not a book to a book.

I see you've found that your god can't be found anywhere other than in an ancient book written by barbaric men who were ignorant of basic medical, scienctific, and geographic facts.

I can prove math without using a math book. Why?
I can show evolution without using an evolution book. How?

I can prove it isn't! George Orwell proves in "1984" that 2+2 = 5. Straight from the mouth of Big Brother! What more proof could you possibly need?

Actually it is not silly to ask for proof outside the bible. You might want to look up the meaning of the term "circular logic" it is a logical fallacy. Using the bible as proof is fallacious reasoning and highly illogical.

2+2 =4 because it says so in the Bible.

I've been here half a year or so. There have always been stupid questions, but luckily, less lately of the truely retarded ones about Pascal's Wager or why Atheists post here.
