they are the ones most likely to start wars, to murder "because god told me to do it"... to drown their kids in a bathtub "because they were not pure", to smash their kids to death with rocks "because god said he would bring them back to life", to cut the arms off their kids and watch them bleed to death, to drive their car into a lake with their kids inside, to kill their wives and entire families because they weren't "godly enough", they kill to "get satan out", they tortured and burned innocent people (as well as animals) at the stake for centuries. "Believers" also make up aprox. 99.9 of viloent prison inmates ,,, and now the "holier than thou" are famous for molesting, raping, torturing, and threatening little children..... etc. etc... the list goes on and on and on and on and on.
Why would God want anything to do with any of you?

I wonder how many people will report you for asking such a question? It is true that most child molesters are religious people and this is very sad.I love God with all my heart and I'll never embrace any religion.Dropping a dime in a basket every Sunday will not buy you a place in heaven. It only makes the preacher wealthy.I also believe that God gave everyone the freedom to choose for themselves. This alone proves that God is pro-choice.Playing God by choosing who gets into heaven or who is going to hell is far worse than using his name in vain.I live in the bible belt and I can't believe how hateful most of the so-called Christians get when anyone disagrees with them.I'm sure I'll also be reported for answering this question with my true feelings.

Because He love us all in spite of our sins, because He offers forgivness for those who ask for it. I'm not really sure where you are getting your information from but if these so called christians are doing such things, they are not trully Christ Followers. those people who claim "God told them to do it" are most likely insane or just claiming that to get off on the insanity plea. However there are some religious people who take what is written in the Bible way too seriouslly such as killing families because they weren't "Godly enough". These are also the people who we call "brow beaters" (repent or die). They press the issue and cause people like you to doubt God and his ways and may even cause you to turn completlly away from Him, but these people are not the examples God wants you to see and follow. believe it or not there are good christ followers out there that are doing right. I just wish you wouldn't categorize every religious person as a "monster"

Excuse You, I am a Christian, however, I do not appreciate you putting all of us in that same mold. These people you are talking about have been proven (most of them) insane or have other mental health situations. The MAJORITY of Christians or religious people lead normal, everyday lives. God loves us all and forgives us all if we ask Him to.
You are looking at a few small number of people that are committing these horrible acts. And the 99.9% you talk about said they are believers, but did specif in what. They could be Satan worshippers for all you know, or they could believe in some carved out piece of soap in their cell. You have no way of knowing.
Check your facts and yourself before you put everyone in the same mold. I am NOT like the people you are talking about nor am I a monster..

People misuse the name of God in many ways. They are blaming God to justify their actions... they are not really religious people, because if they were, then they would know that killing another is impious... they would know drowning their own kids is impious...

I would guess that God would not want anything to do with the people you've described.
But if it's true what you said about "Believers" also make up aprox. 99.9 of viloent prison inmates",
then I would guess that it's also true that 99.9 % of believers are NOT violent prison inmates.

Believers don't do that stuff! Crazy people kill and destroy, then they blame it on someone bigger thatn them to avert the negative attention to something else, like the church. It's a get out of jail free card to them. They are considered insane and the media starts blaming organized religion. Which you've obviously bought into. Real believers love. That's all.

I don't disagree with your main point, but when you lump all "religious" people together and call them monsters, your excellent basic point gets lost. Of course, most of the atrocities in the world are--and always were--committed by people who claim to believe in a god. Very often, these horrors were done in the name of their god. That is indisputable fact.

I suppose and as far as generalizations go, you would be a poor, innocent, abused, beaten, victim of this phenomenon,
wouldn't you?
And so, what of the few billions of people of religion that are not doing these things. Are they just monsters in waiting?
And, of course, we are guilty of being against abortion, the killing of the most innocent of all.

All those things are forbidden in all religions....so I don't know where you heard this from. Where are all these things happening? I think you're exaggerating & making things sound worst than they actually are. If some individuals do something bad in the name of a religion, blame those specific individiuals, not the entire religion and its people.
