The word and letter count is going to vary depending on the translation used. And then, are you talking in English or the original Hebrew and Greek? Sometimes it takes more than one English word to translate a single Herbrew/Greek word. Plus the number of letters in the Greek word for something is going to be different from the number of letters in the English word.
But the number of words is a little over 3.6 million.

Depends on the version. Try an experiment with downloading one in Word or PDF format and loading it into a word processor such as Microsoft Word which has the word/character count option under Tools.
