my bf of 3 months just broke up with me about a month ago...he just told me he felt like we were better friends...he called about a week after we broke up after i called him and left a voicemail....we were very close friends before we dated...and now we dont even talk...i hate being able to not just go up and talk with him when i want....my best friend talks to him sometimes...and she asked him if he was just never going to talk to me again...and he said no i just dont know when, but i will eventually... what does this mean??? i know from being a girl that they are always emotionally attached to their ex4 a while...and usually want to talk soon....but guys r different....why does it take them forever to feel comfortable around their ex? how long do u think it will take him to talk to me?? should i call or email just saying hi and see how he is...or should i wait until he talks to me???? thank you 4 all your help

Dating a friend always changes the relationship. It always does. Sometimes a guy may feel more comfortable around you just as a friend, but because you are his ex girlfriend, he is going to want to get over his feelings for you first so that he can talk to you in the way he used to before you guys started dating.

Even though it is hard you should wait,he will eventually want to have you as a friend again because unless something horrible happened between you his feelings don't just fade away.There is no point in losing you.I've tried it already and i'm in the same situation now.When I was trying to get back to be close with him he kept pushing me away and huting me even more.Once I gave him the time he need he came running back to me.Guys are weird,i thing they don't feel comfortable in these situations and are too afraid of dealing with them.But if you have some patience it will soon come a time when he will feel he needs you to be close even though you're not together anymore

Oh well, it sounds like you are very mature about the situation. I would think that you could text him and say something like, Just wanted to say hi, maybe see how you were since we havent talked in awhile. But whatever you say and however you say it, its not a bad idea to talk to him first in an offhand sort of way. It will let him see you are ready to be friends and dont want anything more, and if he is ready then he will respond likewise. If he isnt at least you will know. I am friends with all my exes and its all very amiable.

He was just being nice to you and your friend. That is why he said he still wanted to be friends and returned your call, otherwise he wouldn't have said anything. He doesn't really want to be your friend and in fact never did to begin with. He was only being your friend in the beginning to get close and become your boyfriend. Now that he has moved on, there is no need to be your friend and I doubt his new girlfriend would like the idea one bit.
You should leave him alone and let him be happy. If you keep calling you will become a stalker. Think about it, he hasn't contacted you, just returned your call...get the hint?

Hey it's might be for the best to just let him be. He's seems to be taking time out, he'll be back around in sometime frame...Just relax sit back and let the guy do his thing. Yeah you should wait until he comes around to chat with you again. And things might not be the same for a while just hang on.

i think that you should wait and let him make the move to talk again ..... b/c if you try and talk to him before he is ready .. he may feel pressured and even if he dosen't pull away he may not ever get comfortable and talk to you again the way yall did before...... also i think that it takes guys a lil longer to talk to their ex's b/c it deals with there confidence and manly emotion.... the best way to explain it is ... it is just a guy thing ... just like girls guys have there unexplain able things.... but i would only make common small talk with him untill he makes the move to talk to you again.....

give him some time. I broke up with my bf and we just started back talking a couple of weeks ago. after not talking for about two months he just needs time to heal. give him that and he'll talk to you

listen he is probably hurt and thats why he doesnt talk to you you just got to let him feel confortable with himself . give him some time to spend with himself .and wait untill he talks to you. don't be gegging him, you are worth so much don't waist your time trying to figure out if he is going to talk to you or not.
