You must file, and odds are you owe them. But you must file anyway.

you have to file state (and possibly local) taxes. Everyone hates taxes, don't be intimidated. Can you go to a tax preparation service?

If, in two years, the state finds out you owe them money, then you will be chared interest and penalty for the entire time! Don't let that happen.

Also, here is a tip, the Federal Government and Most state Governments will do your taxes for free if you make less than $52,000/year. Just go to the local IRS office (then ask them where the nearest state dept of treasury office is).

Nothing is certain except death and taxes. You will be hit with a penalty for late payment of taxes. Your employer could also be fined.

If you are a CA resident, you need to file a CA return, and if you have taxable income, will owe something to them.
