I'm a Gunners Mate for a reserve SeaBee battalion... and yeah, we were there. Fallujah Iraq during the invasion.

Of course they are! We didn't go to war and give the Navy a vacation. You may recall news stories about having two carrier battle groups in the middle east.

Sure, not only at sea but they are using Navy EOD teams. I also know someone in the Navy who is currently working with counter IED teams in Iraq.
Also, Navy ships fire most of the cruise missiles against targets.

even thought the war takes place mainly on the land, the navy vessels provide supplies, and support to the troops as well as a moble landing strip for our planes. it is the safest way to get troops and equipment to our fighting men.
