This is hard,me and my boyfriend have been together for a little over a year and we have been like the best of friends until just the last month he has become so jealous and he is really getting on my nerves. I have told him that this will not be tolerated and he needs to act right for GODS sake we live together. How long should I give him to straighten up??

You shouldn't do anything.

You have no right to demand he change, and you are foolish to think he can anyway. He should leave you just for your arrogance and controlling behavior. He is what he is and if you don't like it you need to find someone else. You wouldn't be very happy if he did the same thing to you, demanding that you change or hit the road. You would be here crying about how unfair he is and that he needs to accept you the way you are.

Maybe he has a reason to be jealous, you probably did something wrong. After all it's you that said this is something new. Wonder what bad thing you did...

How long until the lease runs out?

Seriously, if you've been together over a year, I'd give him 4-6 months. But if he becomes abusive - leave immediately and don't look back.

Good luck! :)

I wouldn't give him long, perhaps a few weeks or a month. He needs to get over the jealousy. Suggestion would be to have a long conversation about this, but it seems you may already have. He may want to consider some counseling.
