Not really. My fiancee hates going to the dentist. I really can't understand what the big deal is.

Dentists are hated by everyone. However, there are some of them who transfer the hatred into congeniality,. They are the dentists who are good conversationalists. A joke, a story, telling about their hobbies, families and they inquiring about your hobbies, families and other topics that GET CONVERSATION GOING and detract from procedures that can be painful.
The ones who cant be good conversationalists put a TV in front of the patient, so someone else can detract.
Dentists are notoriously withdrawn and introverted so many of them pick the TV route. If the dentist is neither a good conversationalists and also has no TV, get out of there. All your attention will be on fear, pain and uncertainty. The guy may be a good dentist but there's more to being a dentist than that.
Just make sure the guy's not two faced. telling you one thing one day, then something else just the opposite the next time you come (after he failed to take care of your problem). They can be treacherous when facing patient dissatisfaction.Beware.

dentists are really associated with pain but now they aren't that bad. There are new laws in place so dentists don't get paid to drill n fill anymore - they actually gat paid to look after peoples teeth. I hope this has reassured you a bit! x

I actually have a crush on my dentist. I get little goosebumps when he brushes up against me. And when he smiles, oh! I just melt! It's an intimate thing, you know, someone pawing around in my mouth. I know, I know... I need help... What can I say? At least it keeps me brushing and flossing regularly! After all, I can't seduce him with cavities!

i am not a big fan of the dentist...i am only afraid of the dentist.. when i am not sure what they are going to be doing...but after i am there i am ok......

I am confined in a chair with a light shining down my eyes a drill sounds, I can't move my pulse becomes fast. I begin to sweat then the bill arrives.Most are dishonest when it comes to pain saying you won't feel a thing. They are no better than the barbers who use to ply this trade.A pox on them.The hated profession.
