how did you feel about the religious aspects in the movie Happy Feet? were you on the side of the pagan penguins who eventually won, or were you rooting for the catholic ones who eventually converted?

Dust: it was so religious that the "catholic" penguin even called the other one pagan!

Sweety, I loved the movie and was not looking for any religious meaning in it. I will watch it again for religious connatation since you mentioned it...but as I remember it, that was more political than religious.

I actually thought it was a good lesson in being able to accept change and people who are different...and protecting the environment. (And I loved the music).

LOL...okay, I admit, I was watching it cause I love penguins and I was so not looking for anything religious. I promise I will watch it again and watch and listen for the things you mentioned. I really will...I like this kind of thing.

I saw those religious connections, too, though I thought of Mumble's group as Evangelical penguins because that was how I grew up. I was definitely on the Pagan penguins' side--they accepted that precious Mumble even though he was an outsider, and they looked for solutions instead of scapegoats. I think that's why the conservatives didn't like it so much.

The Pagan Penguins all the way. The old guys had walrus tusks up their feathery bums!

Well... I can't say that I'm too fond of either catholics or pagans... but hey, to each penguin his own belief!

I have not seen Happy Feet because I think it will be too emotionally intense. I am trying to figure out a way to ease into it.
