Breaking the glass is part of the Jewish religious ceremony. Whether or not you do that is up to the two of you. It symbolizes the destruction of the second Temple.

Find out what she wants to do and take into consideration your feelings about the breaking of the glass. If her parents are set on it, I guess the best answer I can give is to stay friends and maybe even live together. Religion is a very touchy subject and you two need to have a good discussion on that subject before marrying. Good luck and getting married by a J P might be the answer because there will be none of the religions traditions involved.

No, you can get married in a non-religious ceremony. Breaking a glass, in any case, is only a tradition and is not a requirement of a Jewish marriage.

Interesting premise. Well, for starters there's no such a thing as a sweet Jewish girl with -probably- kinda serious Jewish parents that , even though she might be 'not very' religious, will skip , intentionally or not, main Jewish holidays and other amenities that are very important to...guess who yet ?
Exactly. Her parents.
On the other hand, Did you asked her yet if she would really and truly be super-happy if you did that ? And most importantly, did you asked yourself if you'd mind taking that path ?
My humble advice, for whatever is worth would recommend that you think about those issues since they will affect your future, perhaps drastically.

You just found out? How long have you been together? And you would only have to "break the glass" if you were married in a Jewish ceremony with a Rabbi presiding.

My sister and i are Christian and my brother in law is Jewish. When they got married they found an old rabai that married both religions together. He broke the glass and they have lived happily so far.

You guys have to decide what kind of marriage you want.
It would also depend if she were a practicing Jew, or her parents were adament about having a traditinal Jewish wedding. Just communicate w/her and her family to decide!

It depends on if your girl wants that.
I have seen weddings where they do both religions at once or have separate weddings for the separate religions
I think it would be fun to have 2 different kinds of weddings good luck :)

If you are so concerned, find a non-Jewish girlfriend.
