Psoriasis is an auto-immune disease, meaning that certain antibodies in the body goes against itself and reflects in skin eruptions.

It can get very serious, painful and embarrasing.

Modern medicine uses steroids to treat psoriasis, but does not have impressive results.

Other forms of treatment include homoepathy & ayurveda which offer treatment with some success. Recently Charak has launched a cream, oil and capsule for Psoriasis. My friend has been using it and has got tremendous relief. He had been suffering for more than 5 years.

The causes may be heredity, alcohol consumption, polluted air, smoking, exposure to chemical fertilizer & pesticides, side effects of certain medication etc. Stress is another major factor linked to psoriasis. People, who try to hide their anger, have been found to be more likely to develop psoriasis.
A diet high in carrots, tomatoes, fresh fruits & oily fish like sardines, mackerel, tuna, etc are beneficial. Avoid alcohol consumption, smoking and exposure to chemical fumes.
