My 14-year-old asked me this question a few weeks ago. I'll tell you exactly what I told her:

Life is a precious gift from God. Each one of us have several purposes in life: first, we must choose whether we'll serve Him or not; second, if we choose to serve Him, then we naturally agree to do whatever He wills us to do. So, while we are God's children, we are also His servants. A servant has no control over what he or she does, or how long he or she will serve; only the Master can decide these things.

So when we are called up to Him, which would you rather hear: "You left much work undone!" or "Good job, thou faithful servant!"

I think she got the point.

AS A CHRISTIAN, when you lose your life on Earth your not actually "losing it" your giving up your old ways and start new and pleasing ways for God. By being "good" isn't going to get you to heaven, it's going to make you a better follower of Jesus Christ. So when you loose your old ways you are getting closer and closer to haveing a new and improved life in heaven.

2 Corinthians 4:10-11 (New Living Translation)

10 Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

11 Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies.

That would be okay. You see, if while I serve God I am losing it, It's not a problem. I do better with Him than I could do by myself. So it's not a loss. I suppose God has brought me to a point where I am content. : D

That is a decision only christians can make. I would not attempt to tell them what to do. I wish they would extend the same courtesy to me!!
