I'm not from USA but I'll throw in my five cents.
We all know that CIA had all the data on the table, the video games in which one could fly a passenger airplane into the Tower, the fact that there was no airborne sheriff, etc.
We all know that USA has confronted an enemy in a war in which the enemy is using specific warfare methods; organized in cells which act in sacrifice manner, and airports are their favorite...
We all know that USA is a military machine, capable of handling any political - military issue, with enormous financial potential and will, when such issues are of concern.
We may most probably never find out if CIA knew, or how many people in CIA were aware or had any information, or if Bush knew...
My point is that CIA had all the capacity, information and obligation to know, and specially to prevent.
I say that despite them knowing or not, they must be treated as if they knew because that was their only obligation, but they behaved like a bunch of morons as if it was deliberately...
It is because of their either moronic, irresponsible or calculated attitude that such thing happened.
Morons they are not. In fact, the most clever people work in CIA. They are payed to think which moves would the enemy make...
Calculative they are.
Irresponsible? Well, the Israelis have had an airborne sheriff long ago, and children have started flying plane simulations long ago, and... any moron would have secured the airports long ago and followed the Arabs all around America... because only Arabs use this warfare method against USA today...
And history tells us that such things governments do to their people...
They knew something was coming. They turned their heads not to know when and what. They acted as if they had known...

"We" the PEOPLE of the United States collectively would have stopped the attacks had we known in advance. However, "We" the people elect those who make policy decisions. Sometimes we do great in our selections, other times we do horribly. I have no doubt that this time is the latter. The people running this country in the Executive and Legislative branches are not the ideal representatives of this great country. Money, greed and power come before country and duty as public servants.
So, I believe that THIS group knew in advance and chose to do nothing so they could have their war and make money for the MILITARY INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX which includes these same politicians as well as corrupt corporations. All they needed was "another Pearl Harbor" to convince the American People to go to war. (See OLD copies of the PNAC site).

The US government and military actually believe that anything goes! In their mind nothing is beyond the realm of ethical or morale possibility! Nothing is too preposterous with their mentality! What do you expect from a nation where a judge can order a person to be strapped into a chair and then run 50K volts between his temples! There is nothing that would be out of the question with that insane thinking!

Of course we would have stopped them!!! This was not the first time they (terrorists) had tried to bomb the World Trade Center. They succeeded in setting off bombs before this attack and were not successful in destroying it. They had also been stopped on many occasions (they are persistent).

All the hippies in here are going to say that we did know, and that George Bush was getting updates the whole time while he ate popcorn and enjoyed the show.
But, of course, yes, we would have stopped it. And don't use wikipedia as a source fro anything. It's not. Anyone could put "facts" in there.
--Alan S-- perfect example of the hippies I was referring to
---squawk_s…-- you too
---jakepi21-- another idiot. God Bless TEXAS. We execute more people than the rest of the country combined.

Of course not.
We'd use any excuse to start a war with anybody.
We are the focus of evil in the modern world.
If it weren't for us, the biggest problem for world leaders would be finding homes for all those adorable puppies down at the shelter.
