She's 3.
she heard this at school:
She said: is it true that adam and eve lived in a garden and god told them that they were naked, so they put on leaves, and some snake gave them a apple?

and I said, what do you think?

And she said.

'No.'

and went back to coloring.

Is she going to grow up to be an atheist?

Ahhh the intellect of a child. sometimes they see more clearly than adults do.

I hope for her sake that she is allowed to grow up & choose what she wishes to follow.

The man seems to be somewhat psycho. It's not the atheism that makes him like that, he'd be jerk no matter what. She can try to stand up to him and flat out tell him he is being a jerk and that there's no need for his childish behavior but it probably won't do any good. Each person is entitled to their own beliefs. If he continues to harass her, she could sue him for harassment (see below). Beyond that, most places require a landlord give a 24 hour notice before dropping by. Perhaps she could arrange for some "protection" before he shows up. Edit: Perhaps if she didn't respond to his taunts, he would realize he's not having the desired effect on her. Kind of one up him at his own game...

She sounds like a smart child who questions things rather than accepting them blindly. You should hope that she keeps this trait. She may or may not grow up to be an atheist. That will depend upon what her inquiries uncover. But remember: just because she rejects the Judeo-Christian creation story does not mean that she does not believe in God. I don't believe that story either, but I do believe in God.

Only time will tell. Most three year olds are not capable of understanding the concepts of God/Satan etc. That is the reason God does not hold these "innocents" accountable for the things that they do or say.

Not necessarily, she probably just didn't have any interest in that story so she blew it off and went back to something that was interesting to her, her coloring.

I applaud you on your answering her with "what do you think?" though. You're clearly raising her to be an independent thinker and that is one of the best things you can do for her raising!

Who cares what label will fall upon her? She has a sense of critical evaluation of stories at a young age and is learning to decide for herself. She has the tools she needs to follow her own path.

No... She will become an aetheist only if she chooses... She only asked you that because she is confirming with her older brother/sister something some kid told her at school. It's good that you asked her for her own opinion, insteading of imposing your own... But you must also inform her, without imposing...

No. She is 3. She does not yet understand the concepts of believing.

She is growing up, thinking... she said no, because you didn't show her the truth...

The problem is... do you know the truth yourself.
Just ask God (not Jesus) to guide you and your sister... and research about religions, it might be that you are in the wrong.
