No one should ever expect a thank you. We should be nice just for the sake of being nice, and do things for people just because we love them or care about them.
However, on the other side, it is also nice to tell someone thank you for anything they do for you. The duration of a relationship should not really come into play. It is a display of gratitude.

Yes! If you stop using manners he will stop treating you like a queen. As a person a tad older (that was taught manners) the fact that you would think you don't need to say thank you is unreal. If you are with him for 20 years (still dating) you should still say thank you. This is a perfect example of younger people not having or taught proper manners. At least you can see you might still need to say thank you. Thanks for being honest. The answer if I got side tracked is yes always use manners. Good luck!

Yes... to show that you appreciate the thought and the detail, no matter how long you've been together...
There are other ways too that people use sometimes to show appreciation... does she cook for you, does she iron your shirts, does she give you a back rub or massage, etc.
If she does not... try to get her out of that comfort zone... you should both appreciate what you do for each other always...
Good Luck

I've been married 11 years and my wife still says thank you for buying her dinner. It's polite.
If you can't be bothered with a simple "thank you" now, what else will you take for granted in 5 years?

Do you stop saying "thank you" to people who do something nice for you that you've known over a year...10 years? It's common courtesy to say "thank you" when someone does something.
I thank my parents when they buy my dinner (about once a year) and I'm 35 years old!

A "thank you" is just a way of saying " I appreciate the time you took for me". Its an act of kindness right back. It is respectful. However, if its demanded then you have wonder if the motives were completely genuine and an act out of love or just pure " Look what I did for you".

Common courtesy would be for her to thank you. If it was a one time slip ignore it. If she just isn't a polite person then you'll either have to accept that about her or mark it up as a reason you may not want to continue the relationship.

I've been married for 28 years and I still say thank you when we go out to dinner. He thanks me for a good meal after I cook at home, that's called polite, and its never dropped, and should always be used, it oils the wheels of relationships.
