Is it true that John Lennon is in Hell ?
Yes, if he was not Saved, and from his songs, and statements, I doubt he was Saved.

Is it possible that someone saw him there ?
No. Once arriving in Hell, the person is unaware of anyone else who is in Hell with him.

I haven't heard of this claim about Lennon being made on any English speaking TV. However the report could have reached TV in South America where several people claim to seen Lennon in hell.

As it happens I have been preparing and will hopefully put up within a couple of days from now (Apr 15th) a feature on this strange subject and how we might assess it. It will be called:
"Seeing John Lennon in Hell"
and you can find it at my Blog

It's possible someone thinks they saw Elvis at Wendy's. It's not proof Elvis really came back from the grave to sit down for a Double with cheese and a large Frosty. A million people think they've seen UFOs. It doesn't mean ET is phoning home from a nearby woods. My mom, who's nearly blind, thinks she sees her dead cat out of the corner of her eye every now and then. I believe her spatial memory tricks her mind into seeing the cat where she's expected to see it for nearly twenty years. The cat's dead and buried, and not in Stephen King's "Pet Sematary." No one has really seen Lennon in hell or seen hell.

I'm a Christian (of a rare type) who questions the existance of hell (as religion teaches it) and who is going there if there is one. I have to study about this, but it really isn't that important. Salvation is. Salvation doesn't mean that you will burn in hell forever if you don't believe. It is really about being cleansed (of your sins) through the blood of Christ if you believe in Him and desire salvation. No one is righteous ("clean" by God's standards) enough to spend eternity in his presence.

I don't spend any time thinking about who is going to "hell" and who isn't.

About John Lennon: I used to be a huge fan and still enjoy his music. I know everything about his life that has been publicly released. I just finished reading new book about him written by his 1st wife Cynthia. Anyway, I occasionally think about "where he is at" in regards to God. IMO, he was struggling spiritually for most of his life, as evidenced by his lyrics, lifestyle, and the many biographies written about him. He also had lots of "demons" from his past that he never really was able to leave behind. In short, we'll never know whether he is with God, but it's entirely possible that he called out to Him (in his mind) while he was on his way to the hospital, accepted Christ, and was saved. This can happen in a flash when someone is taking their last breaths, I believe.

if john lennon did evil things when he was alive, then yeh he could be in hell but the part about someone seeing him in hell that is to ridiculous , hard to believe.

If there was actual proof of hell, we would live in a much better world because people would be on their best behavior.

As for Lennon, I don't believe that he would be a candidate for hell. He was not a perfect man, but he tried to support peace throughout a good portion of his life. That has got to count for something in the afterlife.

Wow - shows that neither you nor the writer of that 'article" have any clue about all the good and decent things Lennon and his wife did. The people they helped, etc. Oh, and the bit about being bigger than god? If your version of god is that petty, I refuse to worship your version. The CHRISTIAN god can take a joke, and likely would have laughed at it too - God is bigger than petty human stuff.

According to Santa's list John Lennon was good so he's definitely not in hell.
