I hear this expression often, but can you show me in the Bible where it says anyone "accepted" Christ, or where anyone was asked if he had accepted Christ?

I'm looking for the words "accept Christ" or "accepted Christ" in the Bible; nobody has identified the verse yet. "Believe on him" or "believe the gospel" is not the same thing.

autohagiographers?
I had to get out my dictionary for that one, and it's not in there. It skips from "autogyro" to "autoimmune."

Which christ? Any king or emperor who was anointed with holy oil was considered a "son of (a) god," a.k.a. a christ. So if you mean Nero or Caligula No I do not accept either of them despite their anointing. If you mean Jesus he was never a christ. No one ever anointed him with HOLY oil. I do think he was a "son of god" in the sense that he was one of a long line of god-men, but a christ? no! I would not insult his memory by classifying him in the same category as corrupt emperors.

To accept Christ simply means that you believe in him as your lord and savior.

The Bible tells us in Ephesians 2:8&9 "For by grace are ye saved through faith, that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God, not of works lest any man should boast."

When a gift is offered to you, what must you do to make it your own. Simply accept it.

Salvation is a gift offered from God through his son Jesus. Therefore, in order to make it yours, you must accept the gift.

Please. We get crap for quoting the Bible, and we get crap for not quoting the Bible. If we use our own words, it comes out in modern English 'accept.' Other words can be used, but as a Christian for about 22 years, 'accept' is an accurate word to use.

I've accepted Jesus(pbuh) as a prophet and the Messiah.

I don't believe he's God or son of God and i also don't believe that just believing in him will get you to heaven no matter what you did here.

Oh, Jesus. You're asking for it.

The gospels are liberally peppered with injunctions to "accept Jesus." It's practically all the guy ever talked about. Few of his celebrated parables have any actual moral value; the lesson is almost always "Believe on my name or burn for eternity." It's easy to see why some people have accused him of being an out-of-control egomaniac; but in historical Jesus' defense, it's just as likely that those words were planted in his mouth by his autohagiographers, to bolster the burgeoning Christian salvationist theology.
