In Islam, is Jesus considered the "Son of God", I know he is believed to be a prophet, but is that all? I have read several verses in the Qu'ran, most of them being in the book of Mary, and none of them say for sure. Could anyone tell me what chapters I need to look in for this answer?

I certainly do appreciate all the answers from you all, thanks. I will add this, I am not of the evil mind that some are when it comes to Islam. I am very curious about ALL religions, but I personally belong to NONE, and honestly, for the near future it will remain this way. I thank you all for your time on this issue, the biggest problem I'm having with Islam and the Koran is every site I read has different info than the next. So now I ask you this, any recomendations on what site I should study from?

Jesus (pbuh) is not considered the "Son of God" in Islam. He was only a prophet and was a mortal man. And what is the book of Mary? If it's in the Qur'an, the only authoer was Allah, not Maryam (Mary, mother of Jesus [pbuh]).

EDIT: I recommend http://www.islamicfinder.org/ for information, http://www.noblequran.info/ for a reading of the Qur'an, and http://www.cair-net.org/ for information of American-Islamic relatoins.

Just take it as a fact that Jesus is not the son of God in Islam. This is mainly because God has no family and that is one belief of Islam. You can learn about Jesus from the Qu'ran because there is a chapter dedicated to Mary. He is a prophet just as Moses is and several more so we should believe in his teachings. If Jesus was the son of God in Islam then Islam would just be an adapted version of Christianity. I'd recommend this site: http://www.quranexplorer.com/quran/. if you want to read the Qu'ran.

In Quran and Islam Jesus is not considered the "son of God". We believe that God has not sons, daughters, mother, father etc. Jesus is a very respectable prophet who came before Prophet Mohammad.

Islam believes that Jesus was a prophet of God created just as Adam was--from the dust of the earth—though born of a virgin, but was not actually crucified, nor does Islam believe that Jesus is God (only Allah is God).

No, Islam does not believe Jesus is the son of God. There are a few religious like groups out there that will tell you that Jesus was a "good man" a "prophet" a 'mystic" and such but will fall short of calling him what he really is because it flies in the face of the agenda they want to push on you. Nothing has changed over the centuries. Every new man-made religious group that rises up over the centuries begins with a slow but methodical disassembling of who Jesus really is so they can insert their substitute. It is the old 'creating God in our own image' routine.

The Quran specifically says that "Jesus is not the son of God". God is eternal. There is none like Him. He is incomparable. Unlike humans, He needs no sons or daughters to continue His race. He had no beginning and will have no end. He neither begets nor was He begotten. "Son of God" is a corruption of the true message of unity of God of the holy Prophet Jesus (pbuh).

In Islam Jesus is considered a prophet of God, like all other prophets. He is not God or Son of God. In Islam God is strictly One. There are no parts of God. He is one, unique singular and without gender.

Muslims only believe He was a prophet. They do believe that He could talk when he was first born, but they believe that Jesus was switched out with Judas and Judas actually died on the cross. They also believe that Jesus was taken to Heaven and will come back one day.

The Christians believe what was written in their Bible, so do the Muslims believe what was written in their Koran. The Christians believe their own dogma, so do the Muslims believe in their own dogma. This is a religion is all about. I do no believe in any dogma and any religion. I was once a Muslim, but I cannot accept all the Muslim dogmas. I also found out people trying to use the religion to attack the other religion. Who is the correct religion, etc etc etc? What is the point. I respect peoples believe although I do not agree.

Muslims renowned Jesus Christ as one in all their significant prophets, yet not because of the fact the messiah. i myself am not non secular, yet I even have Muslim family contributors-with the aid of marriage, and that's some thing i will inform you with certainty, even with the undeniable fact that i'm not sure approximately PBUH and Moses. Please do not base you judgments on what "Ex-muslim" has reported, because of the fact even even with the undeniable fact that i in my opinion disapprove of all religions, I even have made the attempt to be sure approximately them formerly passing comments... which he for sure has not. right this moment Islam is decrease than fireplace for not changing with the circumstances and being the two regressive and (each and every so often), inhuman. yet once you examine your historic previous, you will see that each and each single significant faith interior the international right this moment has "been there and accomplished that". Hinduism replaced into as quickly as so ritualistic and corrupted that folk left in chunks to form the recent religions of Jainism and Buddhism. Christianity have been given so corrupt, regressive and inhumane, that Renaissance got here approximately, and the Protestant church homes have been shaped. What i'm attempting to assert is that, don't be so crude as to sentence with out first-hand wisdom and continually do your guy or woman examine! Blind faith is undesirable!!
