Maybe he's the equivalent of Hermes; and when he was complaining to the other gods in Genesis he was talking to his older brother and his dad.

I would say they are in more of an advanced life cycle than the spoiled, rich, stars of hollywood. As life cycles advance, the lives become more difficult. The early ones are easy and self gratifying. Example of pure ID is a serial killer, or sexual sadist. They know nothing of what other people feel and don't care. As you progress further you will be in a stage of this selfishness but not so cruel about the gratification. Example is your "talentless stars of hollywood". Then karma hits and you move into the pain and suffering category like your "starving kid in Africa" or the children in Iraq/Afghanistan. Further along the path of enlightenment would be your monks and "insane people". Then, you graduate as though in school, (if you have learned the lessons of the material realm) and move into a spirit realm. Where you begin at square one again. So basically, elementary school = material earth, middle school = spiritual earth, high school= another ring towards the center, closer to our creators universal knowledge etc... the more lives you succeed in, the closer to this knowledge you get. After, each Unit of lifetimes you will join with other souls before you enter the next "school" until finally, every soul ever created reaches "Gods" knowledge. Pure potential, everyone, everything, forever.

Most of the old testament is cryptic (where he sounds like a spoiled kid)

Example:
or three sins of moab "a christian with a terriotorial spirit" and for four "because people sin so much that usually you are marked based on your level of spiritual progress and not on the actual deeds you have committed" I will not turn away the punishment thereof "because you burned to lime" [your zeal consumed] the bones "marital dowry" of edom "those who have no kingdom" therefore this iniquity will be in you a fire that will consume all your fortress "take away what makes you secure in life" and kill all your officials within it "your ability to understand God's law in context and to discern the signs of the times"

Parable of the labourers:
those who worked one hour and those who worked the entire day: those hired first recieved more in glory riches and honor, those hired last received only salvation but both received a denarius (the same wisdom, the same understanding the same God) when those hired first came around they thought they woudl receive more, because they had born the heat and the burden of the day (that is life is more difficult when you have to endure the brightness and severtiy of living in the full illumination of truth) but they don't realize that the commodity belongs to the Lord, that is it is not their righteousness, but the Lord's righteousness, they do not have a monopoly over His grace.

about 96% of the bible is written in cryptic form, it doesn't pertain directly to what it claims to signify

No. Though we humans cannot fathom his thoughts, he is more of a Father. One who gives you free will to choose, and does not force you to obey him or his rules, or expect something in return. He just gives you the rules and the way to a good path. It is difficult to compare his attributes to a human because he is God, although God was with us in the form of Jesus Christ. He dwelled with us and shared in our pain, and was crucified for our sins. So that salvation would be easier. There is only one God radiating in three personas, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. and they don't argue but always in agreement.

He seems much more like a frustrated, yet patient, parent. I don't think you've even read the Old Testament.

The word of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

He's is either a spoiled kid who could annhilate everyone, or He is far beyond what we think and know who can annhilate everybody. Either way, you lose if you are not on His side.

It is really amazing how long humanity has been creating God in their own image.
