Too much of anything can kill you and when it comes down to it water - H2O - is just another chemical. If you are drinking 2 litres spread out over a day you're doing fine, it's when you drink a large amount (3litres) in one go that you could get 'water intoxication'.

Yup, but it has to be loads to do any serious harm, its the volume rather than it being water. I think if you drink a lot then it starts to make you feel tipsy, something to do with water levels in your ears or something to do with your ears and balance. I heard someone died from drinking LOADS of water but I'm not sure what would cause you to die from it. But unless you drink more than like 2 litres a day I doubt its gonna be a problem, especially if you don't drink any other drinks.

You can become flacid (not a joke) if you drink too much water but you really would have to be drinking an awful lot of water to become like that. It means there would be so much water in your body that your cells would be flooded and could not function properly - remember nerve cells, lymph cells, brain cells, etc, and you could experience organ failure in very, very extreme cases. 8 pints a day is good for you. 12 pints a day is a bit much. More than that and you are looking at trouble.

Yes, because water speeds up your digestive system. People drink it to prevent constipation. But too much water will speed your digestive system so fast that your body won't be able to absorb the nutritions of the foods you eat. Let me tell you a story:
Once there was a kid with parents that said that whenever he did something bad, he had to drink one cup of water. So the kid did something bad and he drank one cup of water. This continued and eventually in one day the kid drank 50 cups of water! You're only suppose to drink 5 per day! After a few weeks, the kid died because he drank too much water. So don't drink too much! Also, too much of anything isn't good.

Too much water can be bad for you as it can wash away all the good salts that you need.
"But the fact is, in extreme circumstances too much water can kill you, even if all you do is drink it. Kelly Barrett, a 43-year-old pediatric dentist from Littleton, Colorado, died of a condition known as hyponatremia after drinking too much water during the 1998 Chicago marathon. Hyponatremia, AKA water intoxication, occurs when the body's salt and water levels get dangerously out of balance, leading to swelling of the brain and leakage of fluid into the lungs. It can occur when athletes, hikers, etc., sweat heavily, losing both salt and water, but replace only water. Diagnostic signs: dizziness, disorientation, headaches, extreme fatigue, death. Prevention: salty snacks and sports drinks. "

If you drink too muck water at ONE TIME, it can KILL you.
Just a few months ago, some morning radio jerks had a competion to see who could drink some huge amount of water the fastest, or something like that, and a woman DIED as a result of the stunt, even though a nurse had called the station to say it was a dangerous thing to do.
Naturally, the radio personalities were snotty to her and continued their stunt.

You will know when you have had enough water.
There is no danger as long as it is not a regular feature and you are drinking often and visiting the toilet.
If this is the case, you should see a Doctor because the condition might just be diabetes.
p.s. I have asked the Moderator to BAN AZIZ 8 for the second time. His filthy language is unacceptable!

Im the same, i dont really go for fizzy, hot or flavoured drinks.
Just dont over drink as there has been cases where people have drank far too much.
Dont panic though, that is an extreme example. 8 glasses a day will keep you healthy. Try not to exceed that amount too draumatically.
:)
