i need specifics. how they're used. if it's through windows or just solar panels, everything.

The obvious phase change heating system steam, but if you are looking for warm-hot thermal storage there does not seem to be much available for that. Eutectic salts are employed as cold storage to supplement refrigeration systems. The advantage is their smaller size - about half that of the equivalent heat capacity of ice.
The classical warm storage system is the heavy masonry chimney running up through the middle of the house.
There are some modern warm storage systems involving concrete floors and ceramic tiles.
Most everything else involves solar- heated or off-peak power heated water storage which takes the highest volume.

I , myself, would like to see the answer that shows a high temp. eutectic salt (or other) system.
