I think that it all depends on the guy/girl. Usually is a lot easier for a girl to live with out sex, but if she is horney.....that's a different thing. In the other hand, a man is ALWAYS in the need of sex! not all of them but most of them...anyways, is a lot more usual to see a man single than a woman

I think it is easier for a man to be single his entire life and I think is men who need to be sexually active more so than women. Women outnumber men 3 to 1. Men have more women to choose from and have more opportunity for sex. Which seems to make women more desperate to find a mate. I don't know the percentage of the women who would fit the description for desperate. I do not know of any personally. I am one of them who would not. That is where aging comes in. Great question.

I think society is more accepting of men who are single for a lifetime. Women are expected to find a man and marry, and are seen as flawed if they don't. I think sexual activity levels depend on the person, throughout life. But what do I know? I'm only 26.

I think women are more in need of a partner when they are younger (teen-50)... but men become more reliant of a partner as they age (50+).
In terms of an 'active' relationship - its different with each person. I know some men who need it all the time but others not at all... while some women either could go the rest of thier lives without it while other women need it to prove a connection with thier partner.

The hormonal flow in the young, up to 25 or so is quite strong , so sexually, that really is the high point. After 40 or so , habits would be permanently embossed on both males and females.Changes and accomodations would be harder to take. There would still be times in our lives when the 'need' would come to the fore, to validate our existance, to proove we are still.....attractive...still have it going....and of course, the delicious feelings.

My opinions only.
But I could be way off base.

honestly today it can be both wanting to no longer be alone. Sexually can be either because men are not the only ones with it on their minds
