Do you really think God sweats the small stuff?
Like if you pass the test on Friday, what music you listen to, or if you wear pants or a dress to church, or even if you capitalize Christian?

I feel our creator set our whole universe into motion in a very set order giving us consistent reliable cause and effects, and that he does not sweat the small stuff.

I do believe he deals with us on a spiritual level to guide us toward peace, and meaning in our physical situations. He allows situations to develop naturally and is concerned with the development of our character/integrity.

What are your thoughts? Does God sweat the small stuff?

Concerning one's disposition, legalism is opposed to being gracious, and so even believers can be legalistic. We are instructed, rather, to be gracious to one another, "Accept him whose faith is weak, without passing judgment on disputable matters" (Romans 14:1 - NIV). Sadly, there are those who feel so strongly about their eschatological position that they will run you out of their fellowship before allowing you to express another position. That, too, is legalism. Many legalistic believers today make the error of demanding unqualified adherence to their own Biblical interpretations and even to their own traditions. For example, there are those who feel that to be spiritual one must simply avoid tobacco, alcoholic beverages, dancing and movies, etc. The truth is that avoiding these things is no guarantee of spirituality.

To avoid falling into the trap of legalism you can start by holding fast to the words of the apostle John, "For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ" (John 1:17 - KJV), and remember to be gracious, especially to your brothers and sisters in Christ. Walk in the light of these scriptures: "Who are you to judge the servant of another? To his own master he stands or falls; and stand he will, for the Lord is able to make him stand" (Romans 14:4 - NASB). "But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you regard your brother with contempt? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of God" (Romans 14:10 - NASB).

You seem to believe in God but it doesn't sound like you know God or have a relationship with God. God doesn't care about your clothes. What God wants is for you to live your life for him. That means everything you do think about him. He knows your heart. Small things are not always as small as you think. Unless you are faithfull in small matters, you won't be faithfull in large ones. Luke 16:10. Life is a test and a trust. Even the smallest incident has significance for your character. Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will recieve the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12

I doubt it very much. I will go further: I do not believe it is wise for us to "sweat the small stuff," as you so delicately put it. Face it, life is too short to cry over every little setback, even where fault might lie with a single individual. Who cares, really, whether it was you or your spouse who forgot to mail the rent check? Swallow your pride, write the check for the late fee, and move on.

However, a spiritual pathway can help people to stop and think, to act with deliberation, and to develop patterns of behavior in their lives that reduce the amount of small stuff that needs to be sweated (or regretted). And even a completely materialistic view of the world might suggest that you develop healthy and useful habits and avoid developing unhealthy and destructive ones. Then the "small stuff" does tend to take care of itself.

No, I concur with the belief that the Creator does not sweat the small stuff. Only us as human beings "worry" about things that are relevantly inconsequential in the overall scheme of things. After all, I do believe that "worrying" is a sign of lack of faith, and "worrying" would defeat the purpose of how I try to live my life today.

If God is truly infinite (whatever that means), then evene dealing " with us on a spiritual level to guide us toward peace, and meaning in our physical situations" would certainly be small stuff. In fact, being infinitely powerful would, by definition, make EVERYTHING small stuff.

And now you are on the road to enlightenment my friend. Of course God knows we are going to make mistakes, he won't hold that against us. Then again, if we keep repeating our mistakes, he'll probably start holding that against us... I just read some responses, and man was I laughing. You christians and your total obedience, take a chill pill. God is our father, not our total controller, he gives us guidance when needed and teaches us valuable lessons we need. His rules versus the rules we think he has are completely different.

Matthew 15:10-11, Then Jesus called the crowd to him and said to them,"Listen and understand! It is not what goes into a person's mouth that makes him ritually unclean; rather, what comes out of it makes him unclean"

God looks at what is in your heart. He doesn't care if you dye your hair blue, or wear clothes that may seem socially unacceptable.

No, but I'd be happier if he showed more signs of sweating the really, really large stuff.

no, that is just some guilt-tripping that was put in place by organised religion to enable a better measure of control.
