Yeah, sounds like the people who praised Stalin and Hitler.

Then again, Stalin and Hitler's death toll only reached into the millions. That's chump change compared to God.

God is good, desiring to give good gifts to His children. But note: the rain falls on the just and the unjust alike.

Therefore, God is NOT a dictator, and He is available for what is to come and for what is in the hear and now.

How can a God we fear also receive our love might be a question that would apply here.

I fear the dentist, especially when a tooth is aching and it must be drilled, then filled before the pain subsides. I then love that dentist, shake his hand and smile at the very person I feared a few moments before.

I fear what God is going to do to a very unjust and corrupt world and yet I love Him because of the promise of His Son to forgive my every sin and be with Him when judgment falls.

1. It depends how you define "god" - e.g. in India there are gods and godesses of evil things

2. It depends how you define "good". What is considered to be good in one religion, is considerd to be evil in another.

no God is not a great dictator
or we would not have free will to make choices dependant on our situations
God is an energy , and that energy has a workforce who may at times give us gentle nudges...
but not dictate
