Maybe because he was born too early. Christianity did not start for several decades after his death.

It is correct that the term Christian, means to follow Christ. Jesus wasn't trying to start a new religion. He was trying to make the Jewish leaders see what they were doing wrong, and how they should change. They were more caught up in the letter of the law than they were about meeting the needs of the people. Jesus was born and lived as a Jew. He worshipped and taught in the Temple. After His death, most early followers of Christ were still Jewish, but they came together to pray and remember Jesus by the breaking of the bread, which eventually became the Christian Mass. It wasn't until some time later that it became clear that they could not be both "religions".

This is a question on logic...
Only a non-Christ can be called a Christian.
The word "Christian" means "follower of Christ."
Is it possible for Christ to follow himself?

Jesus is the "Christ" The son of God. To be a Christian is to Be Christ like. To follow Him and live as He lived. To live by His example. Jesus started Christianity because He is Christ.

Christ is Christianity. There were no Christians before Christ.
Common sense? Before Christ there were people that believed in our God, but obviously, he was not called the Christian God before Christ. Jesus Christ was the son of God and therefore preached God's word.

Because Christians are followers of Christ. You can't follow yourself now can you? Well perhaps you can if you run around in a circle really really fast.

He was Jewish. Christianity was the method of worship He was introducing, and it didn't start until the beginning of the Church Age, after His resurrection.
