My dad's favorite was making me take responsibility for the dumb things I did as a teenager. He would let me have my way and when I screwed up he would stand there while I fixed it and discuss with me the reasons my original decision was wrong. Drove me crazy but taught me a lot. He never let me allow anything to slip, I had to take responsibility.
Yes, I deserved it, yes it was pure torture and I learned to stop and think before acting. Yes, once they are old enough to reason with, I use similar tactics on my own kids.

I never had any extreme punishments. I skipped school once when I was in the 9th grade. My neighbor saw me and I was so afraid that she would tell my parents that I beat her to it and told them myself! I think I got grounded for a week or two, but that was no phone. I could still watch TV. I was naturally hard on myself, so I'm not sure if their punishment was effective.
I do use restriction a lot with my children. They get the occasional slap on the bottom, but we mostly take things away from them as punishment.

I am 50 years old and I remember my mom beating me on my legs and back with a fire poker for not playing outside while she took a nap. Today I'm a successful business man with three grown boys that I only spanked a total of 5 times combined,in their whole life. Violence is one tradition that shouldn't be passed on thru the generations. Not really sure if I deserved it.It was such a daily ritual I no longer cared.I just expected and took it knowing that one day It would stop. I left home at 17 and joined the military. Year later, she acted as though we had a great time when I was young. I had the strength to forgive her and never looked back.

My dad caught me drinking and smoking cigarettes one time, when he yelled at me and grounded me I told him that I was old enough to do what I wanted. After I picked myself up off the floor for disrespecting him and talking tim like that (which was deserved) he made me eat a pack of Kool Menthol cigarettes and drink some rott gut red wine. I got so sick that I didn't even look at a cigarette or a bottle of booze for a real long time. Yeah I think the punishment fit the crime, no I wouldn't do the same with my child, I don't drink or smoke anymore so my kid isn't being raised around it and fully knows the effects health wise if she did.

I deserved every punishment handed out by my parents. Maybe not to the extent they went but nevertheless .... I was a bad kid when I was younger. Was it effective?? Obviously not since I kept doing the same stuff over and over lol
Some of the punishments I use on my daughter, to a lesser extent than my parents did. I'll try different punishments but once I find an effective one for the situation, I'll continue to use it. So ummmm I'm still searching for effective ones but hey, it's not for lack of effort!!

When I was in high school my junior year, a few of us decided it would be fun to have a few beers before going to a school dance. Well, we got caught. My parents took away the phone, tv and everything for 3 weeks. Did I deserve it, yes...Did I learn from it..of course and now as an adult and look back I am thankful my parents cared about my well being enough to punish me. I hope eventually when I have children, I can be as admirable as my parents.

The worst punishment I ever got was getting smacked on the bum with a wooden spoon, and yes I did deserve it, and yes it DID work, and yes I will discipline my children with physical punishment (To a certain extent of course) because In my personal opinion i belive that it is the most effective punishment.
And i grew up to be a "Good Citizen" hehe. So yeah .
Edit: Oh , I forgot the reason i got punished. It was because I was meant to be home at 5pm that evening for my grandmother's funeral. I got back at 7pm and i couldn't go. so i learnt my lesson.

you need to touch social centers. All states have a warm line quantity and in case you touch the police branch, they ought to have the means to offer it to you. Your parents are neglecting and endangering you by allowing your brother to attack you and that's against the regulation. even nonetheless he's youthful, if he's taller and heavier than you're, this could be a severe difficulty with somebody that has ADHD. Your brother ought to be getting scientific look after those themes and you need to be shielded from him.
