The part about finding room for those who would benefit our country such as skilled workers by scaling back family reunification to spouses and minor children is long overdue. However, with raising the numbers of those here and entitled to come thereafter (through even remaining family preferences) PLUS adding guest workers he is ignoring the fact that we have in no way solved the torrent coming illegally. It doesn't even require the long mandated visa exit tracking system to be in place, or out law sanctuary cities explicitly and absolutely reneges on the fence loudly touted before the 2006 elections. Instead he wants sensors we all know can be shorted out by peeing on them.

Solve the problem first, and put as much ingenuity into that as is being put into slipping in low cost workers to drive down US wages. We know the difference.

I think it is better than amnesty and that it's easier than deportation. However, I think it's only a slap on the wrist for those who have been breaking the laws for years. If they have fake SS#'s they should be charged with SS fraud and identity theft and go to jail. The should also have to pay back taxes and there should be a way for us to find out how many medical bills they have skipped out of and make them pay. If they can't then they should be sent back. They should also be required to learn English. Fines are not enough.

I think its fine. the people that really want to be here and havent done anything illegal besides comming here wil beable to do what they have wanted to work and take care of their family back home and start a family here if they want. and the goverment will be making free money i dont see any problem with that.

Saying it, and doing it are two different things. In my opinion, nothing will be done. Who is going to round up all these people? Can you imagine the lawsuits? I bet the immigration lawyers are setting up offices along the border as we speak. If the laws as they exist were enforced, we would not have this problem.

I'm still waiting for his plan, that tells the illegal aliens, to get out and stay out.

I am very happy with his plan, it actually gives illegal immigrants a chance to work and communicate with the immigration system to see if they are eligible to remain in the US

No, that's ridiculous. They should be deported instead. They're breaking the law.
