there's no procedure as such, do you notice your hair turns greasy just a day or two after you've washed it? then you have oily hair. or is it a little dry or rough, even straight after washing it, and you find that it doesn't turn oily much? this means it's dry. if you find thaqt you can go a full three days without washing your hair without it turning greasy, and that its never very dry or frazzled out, then you have normal hair (and good for you if you do!!)

if your hair was greasy or dry youd know about it already, it would be obvious, so your hair type is normal. your hair might be slightly dry (if it feels rough and frizzy, especially at the ends) or slightly greasy (if it looks oily at your roots by the time you wash it) use the appropriate hair products for your hair type ie. normal! but you could use conditioner for dry hair or shampoo for greasy hair depending on what description best fits your hair.

don't wash your hair for a day or two, then look at the roots. you can tell if it's oily because it looks greasy. if it's dry, it doesn't have enough oil to look shiny and it might break off easily. normal hair is in the middle. you don't have to wash it every day and it looks shiny and healthy.
