My sister is DEATHLY afraid of being by herself. We are home alone and she is 12 and I am 13. My mom left for work and my sister came into my room and kept bugging me to go downstairs, so I pushed her out of my room and locked the door. Next thing I knew she was screaming like she was literally being murdered. She was screaming, "Please, Erika! There is someone out here!" She banged on the door so hard and she couldn't catch her breath once I finally let her in. She begged and begged to let her stay in my room, so right now she is laying in my bed. What do I do?

No...she's screaming because she's scared.

this sounds like an anxiety or an extreme phobia. You need to talk to your parents about it as soon as possible, she needs to be evaluated. In the meantime, be a good sister and stay with her. comfort her, anxiety attacks are very scary to they person experiencing them. Their terror is real.

Your sister truly believes that there is an intruder in your house... so, let her call 911 for the police to come and check it out.

This morning's incident, and how you handle it can make or break a lifelong relationship. Maybe you don't believe what she says to be true, .... but what if it is?

Allow this to play itself out. If your sister is wrong, and there is sign she was being excessively fearful and manipulative -- then there is some documentation to establish she needs emotional help from a counselor.

Your sister is l2, she's not that young. To be so afraid of being in the house when she knows your there is something to thing about. Is she acting this way because she's really afraid or because she wants to be with her big sis. Is it so hard for you to have her with you. From now on when your mom leaves just invite her into your room and both of you go back to sleep, it might be easier for you and alot less stressful. I would talk to her and ask her what she's really afraid of.

i think that she is watching a lot of ghost movies or has heard a lot of ghost stories.first abandon this habit and tell her to go to the building of the religion which you belong.example-church.tell the to frequent the church and increase her faith in God.this is the first step.small girls tend to be a bit afraid when they are alone.this is quite normal but measures should be taken at most to stop this.just comfort her and assure her that you are always there to help her.make her place her entire trust in you and then she will slowly unfold and become her own self.anyway there are not ghosts in your house, are there?

Give her tough love. She's gonna be by herself a lot more, now that she's going into High School (maybe). When she screams, turn your music up. You KNOW she's fine, just let her chill out.
