By all means, defend yourself whether or not God called you to be something.

Your post is really confusing; you "swear you aren't a Christian", but you sure sound like you are, and thats a good thing as long as you think for yourself and don't follow
blindly after some church.
Anyway, If you've been attacked, and it was because of a misunderstanding you should defend yourself. Yes, I realize that Jesus
did not defend himself at his "trial", but you need to understand WHY He kept silent.
Check this out, its really cool:
Jesus said when accused of being the Christ: "thou sayest"; this is because the entire event was already prophecied in detail one thousand years before, and you can read it in Psalms 22; He didn't NEED to say anything; it was already all said before. The crucifiction was planned, so he certainly did not want to stop that, and he didn't need to stand there and say a bunch of stuff, because the fulfillment of this prophecy was being done by those all around him; pilate, the pharasees, even the roman soldiers at the foot of the cross - Jesus never stopped teaching the entire time he was in the flesh, and beyond. When you see in scripture where he says nothing, you can bet that its a teaching also. And this silence is a big teaching. He's showing you that he did not have to say a word because it was a fulfillment of prophecy long ago - if ya want the words, you can read them in the Old Testament. He's an amazing teacher. Anyway, if you are ready to follow an example of Christ, its a good idea to understand the reasons Christ did
the different things He did. Anyway, Christians (or anyone else) are not here to be doormats for anyone. We are not second class citizens. Yes, you have every right to defend yourself. Christ loves can-do types of people, not wimps. He cannot use a wimpy fluffball who just walks around saying "praise the Lord" all day long. What possible good as a soldier of Christ is that person? God loves all His children, but there are those children who are useful instruments in Gods hand, and then those
who have no backbone to stand up for anything, and so they are loved by God, but not useful to any purpose He has for this generation. If you want to be useful to God, you stand up for yourself and for what is right. Maybe all God is telling you in all of this is that you could be of service to Him, if you have that backbone....its not
particularly easy to be a Christian, even though we are majority in the USA; we are constantly attacked by others, so those who can't stand the heat, need to decide if they want to be in the kitchen, ya know?
And we're just getting started; things are gonna get a whole lot worse before they get better. I wish you the best.

Well. A pedestal. Well, God said he would raise up people that would do his work in the world, but humble servants are usually what he has in mind.
He can't promote you if you are busy promoting yourself. If you are working under God's authority, you can speak up for yourself, certainly, but he takes care of his own. He can and will, or at least would defend you in a spectacular manner.
If you are being arrogant, that won't get his message across: you will annoy or alienate those he needs you to reach.
Trust me, hon, when God gives a person a platform to trumpet from, he or she will probably find themselves down on the ground someplace, where he or she is needed, in the trenches; not up above peoples' heads, where nobody can hear what you are talking about.
As for God, and his actions, God doesn't always put his hand on a supernatural stop sign in our paths when we get headstrong or wayward. But he will get through to you. However, if you are too busy tooting your horn about yourself, when would you notice, hear, or care?
Someone--or many someones--may have already said a quiet word to you as God's messenger. You may have been too busy to notice.
Why not take a bit of time off from that pedestal, and if you are planning to work for God, get to know him? How do you know when, where, or how to collect that pay?
Before I close this, you mentioned Jesus at his trial. You are right, Christ didn't defend himself. And yes, he is our ultimate example--in every way. He knew when to say nothing and when to speak.
Seems like you are serious about this. Well great! but truly, take some time off, and decide if you even want to apply, before you resume the assignment, or accept another one.
If it's God, you may be noticeable, but I can almost guarantee you that he rarely promotes those without experience or from outside the ranks. It's an important job.
Don't give up! Sounds like there's a great future ahead of you!
Hope I helped!

Two things: First, you don't know God so you should not try to guess what he may or not have done or wanted. The existence of Jesus and/or the things he did (or didn't) are not provable. So, I would not go by that either.
Second, and more important -- Always only do what YOU feel is right for YOU. You could be wrong but that is the only way to go. Your religion can guide you but eventually the decision is yours. So, I would not worry too much about being confused in regard to your relgion.

First off...Resist the enemy and he will flee - not ignore - two different things. If you know in your heart that this is God's will for you and you are answering the call then continue. If you have doubt, as I believe you may by asking this question, then regroup and take another look at the situation. Most times our hesitation is a signal to change perspective making sure this is not something we desire but something God desires.

Of course you have a right to defend yourself, but you need to pick your battles. Sometimes the people who attack you for who you are or what you do are not worth your notice. But there are times when they are noticed by enough other people (or the media) that your silence may be taken as an admission of guilt. Then you need to explain yourself in a way that points out the injustice of the attack.
For example, take homosexuals. They generally believe they are born that way, and therefore the religious ones conclude that God made them that way. But the issue is not justifying yourself in terms of what God made you, but in terms of your right to privacy, and that love is love, wherever you find it.
The same would not be true of a thief or murderer, of course. They would have no basis for concluding that God made them that way. Even arguing that God gave them the urge to steal or to kill would not hold water: who wants to worship a god like that? And the general consensus is that such urges come from Satan, not God. In any case, it is your responsibility to resist temptation and behave morally.
Remember that arguments based on your religion are not going to have any merit to those who do not belong to your faith. It's not what God made of you that matters, it's whether or not you have a legal and moral right to be who you are.

I think before you start talking about what God chose you to be, you need to figure out who you think God is. Christianity is all about having a relationship with God. God does have a plan for you but if you have no relationship, you cannot know what that plan is. I urge you to pray and ask God to reveal Himself. He said that whoever earnestly seeks Him will find Him.

Okay.
Quietly get down off the pedestal, because the whole implied Holier Than Thou thing is making me nervous.
Now, tell me, slowly, what this Purpose of yours is...
Maybe if I understand where you're coming from I have a better chance of saying Oh! I don't understand at all!
Because, to me, that seems to be where you 'are at' right now.
Confusion's no fun, but if you tell us what's going on, maybe we can offer some advice.

God chose me to be something too. I was raised christian, went to christian school, but since I see auras, orbs, and have spoken to Spirits...I am evil and blasphemous.....according to them. So how do I integrate the faith of my Fathers with what I know to be real and True.
You should not have to ever defend yourself....You are perfect, whole, and complete just the way you are. RIGHT NOW....we all have sums that need to be worked out. You are God's Child...his light is in you. He has 72 names carved around him. Call him male...female...whatever...you are a sacred Temple.
You see...this is what Jesus was telling us...the Holy Roman Church taught us that we are full of sin and evil so we have to go to them to seek salvation $$$. Jesus died...so we may be born into spirit...not for our sins....If he died for our sins...the burden would've been so great...He would've died as soon as he came into this world.

Jesus was not concerned with his position in this world. As long as you are attached to the opinions of others you will never be happy. If you truly believe you are right, why defend yourself? Let go. Use your energy for better things.
