I waiver between two. The last words of Jesus and the death of Judas Iscariot.

Acts 1:18: "Now this man (Judas) purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out."

Matt. 27:5-7: "And he (Judas) cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself. And the chief priests...bought with them the potter's field."

Matt.27:46,50: "And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, saying, "Eli, eli, lama sabachthani?" that is to say, "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...Jesus, when he cried again with a loud voice, yielded up the ghost."

Luke 23:46: "And when Jesus had cried with a loud voice, he said, "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."

John19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."

I believe the question was fairly clear.

It's also clear that either Judas hanged himself or he didn't. One verse says he was disemboweled and the other says he was hanged.

Same as the verses that can't agree upon what Jesus' last words were.

The Bible cannot even agree with itself on the genealogy of Jesus' step-father, the color of the robe Jesus wore at his trial, or what he was given to drink while he was on the cross.

They do not agree, therefore they contradict one another.

And for the record, many of the original manuscripts that were used to create the Bible, aren't recognized by Christians as valid.

But, we digress from the original question. This is not a religious debate, it was a very simple question regarding one's favorite Biblical contradiction. If you believe the Bible to be truth that agrees with itself 100%, then you have nothing to post that is relavant to the question at hand... correct?

Jan, perhaps you should ask what someone's leve of education is before making an assumption such as that?

I have found that when "no offense intended" is included in a sentence, that's exactly what is meant.

And again people... why the insults and attempts at putting down the intelligence and education of others without answering the question at hand? If you do not believe the Bible is contradictory, then where is the relevancy of your post?

ON CIRCUMCISION

"...if ye be circumcised, Christ shall profit you nothing." -- Galatians 5:2

I'm no longer conversant in the only approximately Tyre. I think you're relating to Ezekiel's description, which used Tyre as a poetic image however wasn't rather approximately Tyre. I do not know of some thing that contradicts it. The long-established Tyre used to be a fortified island town, conquered by means of Alexander the Great on his option to Egypt. Alexander devastated the town such a lot that it needed to be moved -- the prevailing Tyre is a seacoast town, and the island is now not there (a silted-up causeway became it right into a peninsula.) I'm extra a fan of the commonly resourceful motives supplied to solve contradictions. I regularly get a well snort out of "the rope broke!" that's intended to provide an explanation for the Judas one. But I wager my favourite contradiction might be the 2-donkeys one in Matthew. It no longer best contradicts the opposite debts, it indicates that Matthew did not have the thought to comprehend what he learn in Zachariah!

Neither of these are contradictions; Jesus
Christ said even more than this while on the cross; If you go to the original manuscripts,
In the New Testament writings we even have the footnotes. All of these statements were made by Christ, and there are others as well listed.
As for Judas, He did buy the potters field:
he bought it by throwing the pieces of silver down onto the floor, and the priests deciding to buy potters field with it.
This event was prophecied in the old Testament writings one thousand years before the event.
The Biblical writings have no contradictions;
the reader is obviously not Biblically literate.
No offense intended, just true.

Acts 1:18 and Mat.27: 5-7 Either way the money belonged to Judas therfore with his ill gotten money the field was purchased. This could easily be said he purchased the field even with his life. Either explanation of his death could also be a poetic way fo saying the same thing. Matt. 27 explains that jesus both cried out "My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?" ...and it says he cried out again wihtout explaining what he said. Luke 27 explains that he said "Father, unto thy hands I commend my spirit:" and having said thus, he gave up the ghost."
John19:30: "When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, "It is finished:" and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost."
Could these all be true and differen't accounts of the same thing?
If you and your friend were telling me the same story and you told part of what happened wiht emphasis on the part you found most significant and your frined tells the same story with emphais on a differnt thing then it is a contradiction...You said Joe came ot visit...your frind said Bill came to vist..Could Bill and Joe have came? or is the story a contradiction? With the Bible you get out of it what you put inot it some read the word of God to know God and some read the word looking for contradictions...those who seek the truth find him and recieve a gift from God called faith and through faith revelation and from revelation a personal relationship with God.

Look no further than the first two chapters of Genesis. Read it and right down the order in which everything was made.

The idea of a judgmental conditionally loving God is my favorite. It goes completely against the teachings of Jesus contained in the bible.

So far, you have yet to show a contradiction ... you provided 5 verses that show no contradiction at all ... did you forget to include them?
