Modesty is a choice. Like everything else we do , we choose or not to be modest in our life. For me,modesty in clothes are dresses below mid calf, sleeves below elbow, neckline no more than 3" below neck and loose fitting. Cape dresses with or without an apron are most satisfactory in the modesty department. Needless to say any male style clothes are totally taboo. Pants ,shorts etc.

A modest dress would be one that would not entice or arouse a persons thought to that trivial instinct of lust or excessive obsession to beauty. Those that does not emphasize fertility zones but rather on one's personality as a whole. It is really relative and subjective from the upbringing, culture, environment, society and religion of a person. I admire Muslims for their modest dresses and their discipline and following their dress code.

Modest dress is clothing that covers the whole torso. Skirts would be to or just above the knee. No deep deep V's. No string bikinis. Same applies to men as well. It's fine to be fashionable but not over the top sexual. I'm Baptist.

Protestant here.
Modesty, in terms of dress, means "having or showing regard for the decencies of behavior."
Modest dress, in my opinion would be dress that does not accentuate sexuality by exposing too much skin or being too tight. Clothes that regular fitting and cover the body from just below the neck to just above the knee would be modest.
Modesty implies to me that one's dress is skewed to the conservative side. I.e. a backless dinner dress with a plunging neckline might be quite "appropriate" for a fancy dinner or the Oscars or something, but would not be considered "modest."

Modest for me is covering up parts of my body I don't want others to see. I realize that my definition of modest differs from everyone else, so I never go around saying other people are dressed immodestly.

I'm Wiccan and personally, I don't think clothes can be modest, only PEOPLE can be modest. The human body is not shameful to look at.
That being said, I usually don't wear ANYTHING that exposes my skin except for the hands and head.
But that's because I work in a laboratory, and don't want to spill acid on myself.

Not that it matters, but I'm a Southern Baptist.
Modest dress would be anything that covers you effectively. Clothes that don't scream "I'm a harlot, come and do me" are preferred. No skirts up to there or cleavage down to there, no tight-tight shorts or pants you have to lay down and zipper with a coathanger lol.

I am a follower of Jesus.
What I wear daily: usually an Indian suit -- pants and a long kurta (shirt) that goes down to my knees and a dupatta (a piece of cloth that covers my chest).
Sometimes I wear Jeans and Kurta (long shirt) too.

I am LDS. I buy quite a bit of my clothing from an Islamic web-site. Otherwise, I wear pants to my feet and shirts sleeves to my elbows.
