Atheists, what if you are wrong, and Pascal's wager really ISN'T the most overused argument in the Christian play book? What if you're wrong?? What have you got to lose?

Oh yeah, and why are Atheists in this category anyway?

Atheist do have a point. Besides our Bibles and Churches how would we know God existed? I know, in every ancient civilizations there legends always included some type of God, or Gods. I think since atheist are so logical thinking, they should get there nose's out of Darwin's books and read up on ancient cultures. Then they might realize that they didn't have proof either but they still believed in Gods and Gods. And not one lick of proof for them.I'm talking about the Indians and people living in the Pacific ocean islands. Not the biblical lands.

I really can't choose to believe, any more than you can choose to believe in something you don't believe in. Christianity doesn't help the world make sense to me, and I can't believe it. If I'm wrong, then at least I was intellectually honest.

I'm in this category because of some of the things I see and hear people say about atheists that just aren't true. We're no different from any other group of people, and it's silly to say otherwise.

Well if they are wrong, I suppose they have their soul and salvation to lose according to most religions. In addition, as far as the atheist being in this category anyways – that is a question I myself often wonder about. Now personally, I do not care either way. However, I have noticed that atheists have a need to make their disbelief in religion known. Especially when it comes to purposefully going into the " Religion & Spirituality" category and just answering every question with, "Because God does not exist" and so forth. For you see, the only way they can really be known as an "atheist" is to dispute (and sometimes be unnecessarily harsh and denigrate) the religious persons ideals and beliefs.

Otherwise, they feel unnecessary or perhaps unheard. I mean, after all... if an atheist kept his opinions to himself, how would you ever know s/he was an atheist? What good is an atheist who keeps to him or herself and does not flame or argue against believers? If they simply kept to themselves (which most religious people desire for them to do) then you would never know s/he was an atheist, right? See… makes sense in that aspect. Therefore, it is essentially a *need* for them to argue against believers. Now, I am sure I have probably offended some atheists since you will get 99% of your responses from them - however this was not intentional and you asked and I gave you my opinion.

Just take notice of how many thumbs downs I get...LOL! Cheers!

Well, of course atheists would primarily be in this category in order to denigrate primarily Christians (and to a lesser extent, other religions like Judaism, Islam, Buddhism,
Confucianism, Shintoism, Hinduism, etc.)!

Most atheists I know, or hear from, almost always bring up their tiresome arguments, like James W does: "Well I'll just be with all my friends, etc.!

Hell may not be all the things it has been accused of being; however, it definitely *shall* be eternal separation from God (the One True God)! And any fool who believes it will be just one big party with all their friends, is very sadly mistaken! "The fool says in his heart,'There is no God.'"

If I, a Christian, am wrong, I'll never know it, if I just pass into oblivion; however if the atheists are wrong, they shall have an eternity to regret their rejection of God, "For God is not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to a saving knowledge of Him."

As to the Jews, they will discover they worship the same God Christians do. The rest . . well "God gives equally to all men.", "they who truly seek Him, He shall in no wise cast them out." But, they must truly seek Him and cast aside all their false gods!

I believe with all my heart, because I can just feel it, that the most overused argument in the Christian play book is "I know there's a God because I talk with Him".

Oh, wait, now the Holy Spirit is telling me that the most overused argument in the Christian play book is "I know there's a God because I can see His creation all around me".

Man, I wish that Spirit would make up his mind. Being inspired is tiring.

Pascals Wager isn't only the most over used, it is also one of the sillier ones. And you lose the one life you do have following a lie.

Notice it's ok for her to say what and if, but it's not for anyone with different beliefs?

You know something? This is all for naught, none of us have proof of anything, we have our belief of what is. Some of us have found it within ourselves, which is a huge part of being spiritual. Some have been spoonfed what they spit back out at others, which is not spiritual but being like a parrot.

Oh and Atheists have a right to talk about religion and spirituality if they wish. They have a right to believe not to believe. So they have a right to be here. Christianity IS NOT the only religion in the world, get over yourselves.

If it turns out God exists, then if he is so omnipotent and all-forgiving, he will see I have led a good life and let me into heaven. If he is vengeful and malicious, then I will go to Hell, which is where all my friends will be as well. Either way it's a win-win situation.

As a Top contributor you should have seen these questions multiple times. I'm only at level 3 and I have seen each of them at least half a dozen times. Do you think we might change our minds over the course of a few days?

If you have issues with Atheists being here, stop directing questions to us!

Atheists are here defending their beliefs.

It is irrelevant if they are right or wrong. Everyone else is wrong too.

If getting back to heaven depend on being right no one would ever get home.

The idea that if the atheists are wrong the Christians must be right is a joke, unless of course God is the judgmental punishing jerk that Christianity makes Her out to be.

Love and blessings Don

Atheists are here because in real life no one cares what they have to say. And if they do say anything, in real life, they know they always out-numbered. Funny though, that they think they have to disprove something in order to make their view valid.

I don't get that part at all. Why talk about religion, when they think the point of religion is a God that they say is non-existent. Quite funny really.

Their view doesn't matter to me, so does mine matter to them?
