How can I calculate my road tax?

I have a volkswagen polo 97 , hatchback 3 doors, diesel.
How much would it approximately cost to tax it?

Your car was registered before March 2001, so is taxed on engine size.
A Polo diesel of that age has a 1.9-litre (1896cc) engine, so is over 1549cc. Therefore the tax is £180 for a year, or £99 for 6 months.
