Isn't it funny how atheists always rush to answer a question on Christianity, and vice versa.
Why do people who patently have not the first hint of knowledge always rush in to answer?
Spirits take many forms.
As for what exactly a ghost is, well, you may never get a conclusive answer, except of course from the ignorant nay sayers.
(Well, if they're going to 'trash my beliefs' then I'm I'm going to criticise them).
Think of a ghost as a residual energy field.
You know how after you turn the TV set off, the screen still crackles with static charge? Sort of like that. A lot of 'what' a ghost is is perception, on the part of the individual.
It's a little bit like the arguments around the existence of God, some people believe God exists.
A lot of it comes down to faith. What you believe.
I know, that probably hasn't answered your question very clearly, but it's got to be a step up on a blank denial.

Ghosts are spirits,at one time in the church the Holy Spirit was refered to as the Holy Ghost.
Ghosts or spirits to give them the proper name can be decieving demons,or the souls of those who are enduring purification before entering eternity.

The Chinese believe that when one dies, his soul will go to
the Underworld where he will be rewarded or punished for
what he has done in his lifetime.* However, some people
may not be happy with their dying and they refuse to go.
So, they remain in this world and become ghosts.
*Some of these souls may come back (reincarnated) in new
lives. This is what we call reincarnation. Most Eastern religions believe in reincarnation.

Ghosts don't exist but Angels do. Some appear as people. So you should be nice to strangers. But there are demon spirits also. There is a medium we cannot see.

Just like angels, demons and leprechauns.
Anyone who says otherwise would have proof to support their idiotic claims. And so far, not a single person has ever shown such proof.

Orbs are dust close to the camera lens. They are very easy to duplicate. There are no such thing as ghosts.

You will know if you get face to face to them. And for that you should lower your heartbeat. There is many kind of angel, demon,satan,Genny.And more that not much people knowing about spirit nature.
