The defeat of Satan, by the Lord Jesus Christ, is complete. Jesus has defeated Satan through His silent years, His temptation, public ministry, death, and resurrection. He continues to defeat Satan today through the lives of believers who have been delivered from the kingdom of darkness and transformed into the kingdom of light. When Christ returns, He will have Satan bound in the pit and then eventually thrown into the lake of fire. Jesus, therefore, will thoroughly defeat Satan.
Jesus was led of the Spirit to be tempted by the devil. These various temptations had a purpose. First, they demonstrated His humanity – only human beings can be tempted. Jesus was also tempted to be an example to us. We are to respond to temptations in the same manner in which He did. In addition, it was part of Jesus’ own personal discipleship. The temptations also helped Him to sympathize with us when we are tempted. Finally, the temptations were part of the great conflict that the Bible speaks about.

Mat 4:1-11 Is when Jesus went to the desert for forty days and forty nights. Afterwards, the devil tempted him, saying that he could turn the stones to bread. Jesus refused. He then took Jesus and told him to jump off a high temple because it is written that angels will prevent him from hitting the stones. Jesus refused. Lastly, the devil said if Jesus would worship him, then he would give him all the kingdoms of the world to rule.
He overcame all this by quoting scriptures that were in his heart.

"Christianity was the ultimate product of religious syncretism in the ancient world. Its emergence owed nothing to a holy carpenter. There were many Jesuses but the fable was a cultural construct. Nazareth did not exist in the 1st century AD – the area was a burial ground of rock-cut tombs. Following a star would lead you in circles. The 12 disciples are as fictitious as their master, invented to legitimise the claims of the early churches. The original Mary was not a virgin. That idea was borrowed from pagan goddesses."

Jesus was without sin so He was not attracted to it as we are, secondly His burning desire was to do His Father`s holy will and if you read the temptations of Christ in the desert, you will see that nothing was more important to Him than fufilling the mission that the Father gave to Him.

He could have fallen into temptation just like we are but he was able to resist the devil through prayer and fasting. He was also obsessed with doing his Father's will and accomplishing his mission.
Peace and every blessing!

By not "acting" on his desires. Emotions create real energies in us. And by simply breathing in and out deeply, you can help to calm that surging energy.
